Xiaomi Note 3 now R1899

What's the warranty on these 1 or 2yrs? Wonder what will happen with repairs out of warranty, how many cell repair shop will know how to repair them/be able to get spares?

They are being shipped from the IC in Sandton City. Called and they could not find the IC order number. Lady called WeChat and sorted it out. I can go and collect at the branch!

I assume that's the only branch we can pick up from?

Only branch that deal with online purchases.

The invoice inside my FedEx bag also said IC Sandton City as the sender and it has 2yr warranty stated which is pretty cool as I thought they only had 1yr.

Out of warranty, throw away when it breaks.

Coming from 4yrs with Samsung flavoured Android, I am missing being able to hit up or down on the volume rocker and then adjust notifications and media sound in the sub menu of the popup. In MIUI I can only find these settings via the normal sounds settings menu.

Any shortcut?

In MIUI 8 it's that way. I missed it too on 7

Well, I've noticed that between the 3 variants (Mediatek, Pro and Special), we're the only one that's on a stable version of MIUI with Android Marshmellow (6.0.1). The other two, though on MIUI 8, is still on Lollipop (5.1).

Press up or down and hold your finger on the circle that pops up

Firstly, I didn't even notice that ours are on Marshmellow. Second, that works perfectly, you're a legend.

Wonder how long warranty repair turn around will be, take the phone into the nearest IC branch?

So my mom managed to get locked out her phone (forgot her password) , no miui account was created so can't unlock it online. From a bit of googling the summary is I need to do a factory wipe however I can't seem to enter recovery mode (when I hold power and vol+ it just show the the phone must be plugged in that's it). Vol - and power button brings me to Fastboot mode and I honestly don't know what to do here. She's had the phone for less than a day. Does anybody have an idea what to do or should I just return it?

You should have just setup the fingerprint lock. Even if she used the pin, it gives you the option

Did you setup a Google account on it?

Also, on some devices, if you enter the password wrong a few times, a forgot pin button should appear and you can use google account to unlock then

Ya unfortunately didn't get that option

4% battery drop overnight from 8:30pm to 6am with wifi, mobile and GPS on. Very impressive!

Even with the reduced camera, I don't think I can go back to my S5

Man, I am sooo tempted to get another one of these phones for my wife. Even at R3899 this phone is well priced, but at R1899 it is outstanding value.

Must not pull trigger...
