Did that yesterday. At that point I plugged in the charger and it started normally.

I plugged mine in to charge and it worked correctly.

I noticed that the metal case did not align correctly with the screen by the volume button. It seemed as if the case was bloated. It was 0.5mm off but noticeable if you looked carefully.

Took it into IC and they are replacing it, when they receive stock from another branch.

Anybody bought the new stuff mag yet?

Wondering what this months deal is :p

From the website:

Leave us not forget that we’ve got a whole mess of discounts from WeChat and Incredible Connection in the October 2016 issue of Stuff. The highlight this month? That’s going to have to be the DJI Phantom 3, available as a fraction of the original cost (50% is a fraction, right?). You’re going to have to act fast on that one, as there are only 25 units available at that price – But there are another 6 heavily discounted items to soften the blow if you miss out.

Great. I did a miui local backup, copied the files onto my PC, then installed the miui8 developer edition. It erased everything, so I copied backup files from PC and did a restore which all worked perfectly, so I'm back with all apps and app data as before...

Getting back to stopping apps from being throttled, I just locked the music player and did some very intensive app switching for over 10min and themusic never died. So locking an app into memory works.

And in other news, over 6 hours screen on time with 30% battery left. No man, this phone is just unbelievable!

Edit: Make that 7hrs SOT at 22%. Screenshot_2016-10-16-21-23-26_com.miui.securitycenter.jpg

That'll do for today. Time to sleep and for the Xiaomi to plug in for some supper...

Have to agree. This phone is absolutely brilliant. Fantastic battery life.
There is something wrong with the notifications though. WhatsApp works, but not getting anything for my emails. But that does not bother me to much.
Ironic that this is the cheapest phone I have ever owned and would appear to be the best.
And what a fantastic finger print scanner. With the S5 and my old 5s it was a nightmare at times unlocking the phone. Not once has the redmi not detected my finger print on the 1st try.

Remember to change the power saving settings for your e-mail app, then open the Security app, select permissions, autostart and allow your e-mail app to autostart there. Solved all my issues.

Not sure if normal or not... But my Redmi is constantly 'awake'. My previous LG G3 didn't do that.

This was my battery usage with just 3 hours of SOT. It's a bit low compared to the other's in this thread.

Install Wakelock detector and see if it can pick up anything? Can't remember if it needs root to work properly though

I see there is a non-root version, just needs a bit of adb to unlock it.

Cool, thanks man! I'll see what happens...

Found the problem... It was the Android Wear app's cloud sync feature. I never use it so off it goes!

Thanks again!

Awesome, glad you have some results.

If I didn't utilise two SIM cards along with an SD card I'd try and get the Note 3, but the Note 2 I'm using works perfectly fine. I'm just a bit jelly over the good battery life reported on here. Mine is not so stellar

You could always try this if you got a Note 3 :p

I'd definitely give this a go if I needed to add an SD Card to my phone - my hybrid slot has an MTN prepaid sim for Afrihost in so destorying the sim would just require the purchase of a new starter park anyways. Still managing with the 4GB free space though so no need to tinker.
