Any advantage to moving from dev to stable? It's still on 6.0.
And I just installed the dev version last week. All the effort....ai.
Will download the stable later and install.

Official OTA Stable release:
MIUI GLOBAL 8.0, version 8.0.4.0 on Marshmallow 6.01 View attachment 396070
Obviously the quick settings slide down and notifications menu is a big change - more like I am used to from my Samsung days.
Things they have got right: big "write new sms" button bottom right inside messages, and FINALLY, when you start a new message, the phone goes to the top where you put a number and the keyboard opens on the bottom of the screen - MIUI 7.5 required you to tap at the top before it would open the keyboard on screen.
From start to finish, update took 30min.
It also fixed my notification issue. Phone is running beautifully. This had to be the bargain of the century, even @ full price (+-R4000) this hone is still a bargain.
Its sturdy, the build quality is excellent, the screen is excellent. the finger print scanner is excellent, the battery is unbelievable. Not to mention its a real looker.
I will be supporting Redmi going forward.
Rather separate than my Xiaomi. I say try and get the MiMax and then give her the Note 3.I just bought my wife a P9lite on the WeChat deal. She is still trying to get me to give her this Note 3 as she likes the gold. I can't give up the battery and battery life on this thing.
I promised her that I will get the Note 4 when it arrives here and then sell her P9lite - she can then have her gold phoneExtremely brand loyal to Xiaomi now. Will never buy a Samsung again.

Its 14:43 and my battery is on 77%, I have used the phone quite a bit today. I promise you, my G3 would have died twice already. There is absolutely no way im getting rid of this phone, ever. Unless they bring out a new phone with an equal or better battery.
Yeah, it's not only the battery, but the aggressive performance and battery and memory management that MIUI does - the combo of huge battery and seriously optimised OS is unbeatable!Only a Note 4 with the same size battery will do for me as well.
