Wait till you get the package in your hands and pop it open and smell that Chinese air...Fair enough. I think once it ships the excitement will set in![]()
I hope they can stick to their claims of shipping within x amount of days.Just got an email it will only be shipped in a week.
In my experience it took less time than they said. Hold up was at customs but still on track for delivery a week ahead of schedule.I hope they can stick to their claims of shipping within x amount of days.
Otherwise I might cancel and use another vendor if they can ship earlier.
I don't really mind the wait but I'd like to cut out delays as much as possible, understandably![]()

I still haven't gotten a mail yet. Still processing. Guess we will see what happens on Monday or Tuesday.
I decided to go the import route simply because I can get more phone for my money. Ordered the Redmi Note 4 on Friday and should take about 2 weeks to arrive. Cost just under R2500 including shipping and insurance.Hi guys
Please advise
I'm looking at buying either the redmi 4a or put in abit extra on the note 3
Is this a good move or should i go the import route?
If so which phone exactly do you guys suggest? Please provide links and details of shipping costs and method
Thanks in advance
Cool, thanks for posting here. Also didn't receive a mail so decided to contact and ask.
They wouldn't give me an exact ship date, basically just saying that they will start shipping when the promotion ends and they receive stock from their supplier.
Cool, thanks for posting here.
I got a mail to say the goods in another warehouse have been shipped (screen protector and covers), but no news on the phone itself.
Guess I'll see next week![]()

Perhaps we should amend the thread title and make the 1st post about steps/advice about importing as the thread has evolved into a pure Xiaomi redmi note 3/4 thread now...
Mi5 guys must go join the S8 crowd.Last time I got a phone on contract was back in 2009. Went Pre-paid and never looked back, imported a Nexus 1 and fell in love with the freedom of selecting the device I want, instead of picking/settle from a shortlist of crappy wannabes. Problem is that in SA they price phones so even when you buy they can coax you into contracts, so importing is a better option.
Currently sporting a Xioami Mi5 (3/64gig) that was only $240 US, here the same phone cost about R7000 so you tell me if its worth it to import.
Erm what about us that got Redmi 4's or Mi5's![]()
