Okay picked up one of these for my wife, just need to get the VC sim as a nano but how do you do that mem card/sim card hybrid thing apparently 32 gig isn't enough.
Also paid R3999 for it at Makro :( saw takealot had it for R3299 might take it back for the 7 days return
Makro will give you the cash back difference if you show them the Takealot pricing on the app.

I was still having the WiFi issue as well as low storage space. Sometimes WiFi throughput would not exceed 100kb/s (connected to 20mb ADSL or 50mb LTE fixed router) and then after struggling, normal speed would return. Yet, if I switched to 4G, speeds were normal.

I did a factory reset last night. WiFi is now back to normal and I have just under 6gb free space. Well worth the hour it took to get the phone set up the way like I like it. Phone also much more snappier.

I've given them 24 hours to refund me - I'm then opening a case with paypal - and they need to refund me in full, not my fault the separated the items.

What's your plan now

Just buy local - even if its the Note 3. Tired of struggling with these Chinese sites. Might check eBay or Aliexpress....

Tried geekbuying.com and gearbest.com and both just screw you around.

That sucks, man. I feel your pain. I am also wanting to rather go local but I will try and vasbyt because my Note 2 still works and I recently switched jobs which doesn't involve me being on a million Whatsapp groups. As a result my battery has been lasting me a day easily...

I'll see which way the wind blows next week, perhaps I end up doing the same since I do have some eBucks to spend. The Note 3 is not bad, however I do like the allure of better battery life of the Note 4 Global...

Odd as I bought 2 phones, a quad copter, camera, phone covers and cases, all in this year from gearbest and not once did they fail me. Oh well guess either I am just lucky or you just have bad luck :D

Edit: I did use DHL with insurance every time so that might have to do with it.

I used their priority shipping
1.) First order arrived in a week - the local carrier was CourierIT who charged more than the actual value in fees alone. I contacted Gearbest, they acted ignorant - I then contacted the overseas carrier they used who claimed in writing that Gearbest were notified that the local carrier charges additional "scam" fees. Gearbest don't give a ****.

2.) Second order, still waiting for it, ordered on 17 Feb - opening a case with paypal today. Tried to get Gearbest to help, because tracking stopped updating on 18 March - they will only help after 60 working days.

I also receive a **** ton of spam from them, tried unsubscribing, doesn't work - logged support
tickets, doesnt work - still get spammed.

Used eBay for over 10 years - never struggled like I have with these dodgy chinese companies.

Geekbuying - still no response in five days about the whereabouts of my order, which according to the last communication from them, should have shipped by now.

Just got a email from geekbuying, they won't refund me unless I close the case I opened with Paypal first.... not going to happen... will escalate to Paypal if they haven't refunded in 48 hours.

They probably want me to close the case so they can then offer less than the amount I'm requesting.

I wonder if the other online retailers are also struggling with stock or if it's just Geekbuying and their excuses?

After Geekbuying I tried Gearbest and got the same no stock issue.
Seller with Aliexpress sent me a message this morning telling me not to worry, they will ship before the deadline, looking at the amount of orders these guys do is pretty insane.
