I used their priority shipping
1.) First order arrived in a week - the local carrier was CourierIT who charged more than the actual value in fees alone. I contacted Gearbest, they acted ignorant - I then contacted the overseas carrier they used who claimed in writing that Gearbest were notified that the local carrier charges additional "scam" fees. Gearbest don't give a ****.

2.) Second order, still waiting for it, ordered on 17 Feb - opening a case with paypal today. Tried to get Gearbest to help, because tracking stopped updating on 18 March - they will only help after 60 working days.

I also receive a **** ton of spam from them, tried unsubscribing, doesn't work - logged support
tickets, doesnt work - still get spammed.

Used eBay for over 10 years - never struggled like I have with these dodgy chinese companies.

Geekbuying - still no response in five days about the whereabouts of my order, which according to the last communication from them, should have shipped by now.

I have bought a number of phones, smart watches, IP cameras etc etc from Gearbest - probably about 5 or 6 shipments in the last 6 months. I have never had a problem.

They do not keep an entire warehouse full of stock, of every item they advertise. A lot of the equipment has to be sourced before it is shipped - most orders I made took about one week before it actually shipped. Once it shipped with DHL, it is a matter of about 5 days to get to your house.

1. Allow a week before they show that it is shipped
2. ALWAYS, and I repeat ALWAYS and only, use DHL expedited, preferably with insurance on expensive orders.

If you are unhappy with paying $ 25 to $ 35 for DHL, then rather buy locally....but it will still wind up more expensive locally.

Almost had a heart-attack, I just bought the 32GB version for R3299 as it was the cheapest I've found it locally and bam saw this and was like nooooo. But it's the 16GB version.

LOL same here then saw its also its the Note 3, not Note 4.

Just bought another 3/32 Redmi Note 4X for a friend from Gearbest an hour ago. (R3200 incl DHL)

That's really not bad at all. So far the Note 3 seems to be steps above the Note 2, which wasn't bad either for it's price. My wife is loving the battery life, the slight speed up and the camera. I was looking at miphones at the Mi5 Plus to one day replace my LG G4.

Mi6 should be unveiled today from what I hear

5 or 6 shipments - I have imported well over 200 items from overseas ranging from a few rand to in the twenty thousand. These chinese sites such as gearbest and geekbuying have **** service. Used them for the first and last time this year.

Geekbuying is a perfect example - no response from them after they told me they'd ship the phone last week - then when I open a case with paypal yesterday - they suddenly respond and immediately try and screw me by telling me they can only refund after I close the paypal case. When I refuse, they come back and suddenly want to refund me the rand equivalent of what I paid in dollars a few weeks back (i.e. they've noticed the exchange rate and are trying to screw me using that).

This has nothing to do with how they ship items - or when - it has to do with their service.

Seller with Aliexpress sent me a message this morning telling me not to worry, they will ship before the deadline.

My order just shipped and my Note 4 is on the way :)
Took around 4 days after order placed to them shipping.

How is the Redmi 4A? Seems nice and cheap :p Worried the Note might be a bit big for me - and I literally just need a dual sim android phone capable of running a mirriad of home automation apps without waiting days for the interface - I don't game, etc on my phone.

On my refund from geekbuying, they keep refusing to refund me unless I close the dispute

Excuse Nr 1. They can't refund me during the dispute process until after PayPal has made a judgement.

Excuse Nr 2. You can't offer a partial refund in the dispute process.

Both times I've told corrected them - and told them I'm not closing the dispute. Very dodgy tactics.

If the refund hasn't been done by tomorrow I'm escalating it to PayPal.

Does anyone have the Redmi 4a? Trying to find information on it - seems people are complaining about an overheating issue....

Hi how much did you pay for duties and taxes?

Anything from R40 to double the products price, depending on who and how you ship what.

On a side note, Note 4x packed and ready for shipping, guess that means I will only get it on Wednesday as we entering a long weekend :(

A buddy of mine has one. He was a die-hard Windows Phone fan and was converted by it. He seems to enjoy it, and even with dual SIM he is still getting a day out of the battery and he usually has 50% by the end of the day (2.5hrs SOT more or less).

It feels as snappy as my Note 2 but I did notice some lagginess when opening Chrome. Other than that there is little to differentiate it from a usability point of view. The screen is only 720p but crisp enough for my eyes on the 5" display

My wife ordered one from Takealot - she had a R500 voucher she wasn't planning on using anytime soon :)

I drove to Makro because their site reflected stock - only to get there and they don't have stock.

Well on a side note the Note 4X I bought on the 11th from Gearbest is at Hong Kong Airport, but sadly due to the long weekend I expect it only on Wednesday.

Edit: Expect it to land over the weekend but will only pay customs on Tuesday.

I am getting the Note 3 pro from the Ebucks store for my wife.

I bough the Mi 5 64GB a months ago from Gearbest, it took about 2 weeks with Aramex to arrive. It was a great phone but some local decided to take it out of my wifes handbag after she had it for two weeks :crying::mad:

I am hoping it's as great as the Mi 5, it looks decent.

It won't be as good as the Mi 5 but it's not a bad device.
