XP PC asking for password in home network

Hi guys,

My XP Pro system connected to my Vista PC keeps asking me for a password to access it, even though there are no folders that are password protected. The Vista system can be accessed without any problems from XP.

Any ideas?

Try typing in the username that you use on the accessed pc. I've also had that now and then.

the guest account is disabled on the xppro machine...go enable it..

my computer-->right click--->manage--->local users and groups etc etc

Sometimes enabling guest doesnt work and you have to create an account with the same username and password as an account on the other machine.

Eg create an account called user1 on XP pc and an account called user1 on Vista pc, give them both the same password, reboot both machines and try again. (You can use any name it doesnt have to be "user1" as long as they are the same) This usually always works when you get stuck with connecting 2 XP pcs it might work with Vista to XP to.
