XP Pro, Vista or Win 7

Window 7 Ultimate will never look back :D

With all due respect, who actually uses all the features above what Home Premium already provides?

I agree.

Windows 7 is for business use, when you need to join a domain. Ultimate has bitlocker encryption for when you want to encrypt all your hard drives & media centre for people to get program guides, etc in the US. Home Premium is all a home user needs.

Personally I'd stay away from Vista
Windoze 7 is definitely your best bet these days but I still use XP on my work laptop and it's rock solid.

The only two nice things about Vista? Easier/better wireless support/configuration than XP and ran Google Chrome like a demon possessed. It actually ran ok on my notebook.

I found it was easier to share a wired internet connection through XP - had endless headaches trying to achieve the same thing with Vista and Win7 (maybe I'm just too used to XP). The wireless on my XP laptop seems to run fine at clients & at home.

Win 7 64bit runs like a dream for me, XP SP3 is probably more stable but is gonna loose out on any new features. Stay away from the Vista

Totally agree, XP is an excellent os, Vista in my opinion was a total failure, Microsoft recovered well with their Windows 7 os.
