hey guys

got myself a mini pro as a 2nd phone... its nice i really like it.

but the weirdest thing is happening.

when i got it i put in the mtn apn (internet) and it worked like a dream. chatting away on gtalk etc.

now i cant anymore.... i can log onto gtalk only via wifi, if i try connect via mtn data it says " cant connect to google server, will try again later"... and it also wont sync to gmail. but it IS syncing calender.

but i can surf facebook and surf net on browser on mtn data, so my data connection is working, but somewhere between my mtn data connection and google servers there is a weird problem. ive gone thru every possible setting. what on earth can i be missing or doing wrong.

its not the phone coz a few days ago it was working.... but suddenly just stopped talking to google, but rest of data is fine

any ideas?

most of the times when i got the same message it was because i put the wrong pin. It wouldnt say the pin is wrong but give that server msg

nah its not pin... narrowed it down to a google apps problem. if i load my regular gmail account its cool, but if i load my google apps acc then i get the issues. google apps worked the other day
and works on my nexus.... but it must have something to do with running on android 1.6

No GMail

I have more or less the same issue, no joy connecting with gmail and I cannot update my facebook app or go to the online store without being connected to gmail. My phone is a xperia mini pro and I use vodacom. dont think it is the login info cause I can log in from my PC using the same info and it will not even conect to create a new account...... Please help.......

What version are you people running? In Settings go to About phone and report the Android version, if you dont mind.

I know Vodacom Approved the Xperia range updates to 2.3.4 last week, so want to see if MTN did this as well and it might be connected.

I ran a update through the PC suite last night and it now recons that the phone is up to date. Firmware 2.1 update 1 and Kernel 2.6.29..........
