Eksdom will never be fixed while we have political support for fraud and corruption - it doesn't matter who the CEO is. The fish is rotting from the head down and it will stay that way until the cause of the rot is removed. The real issue is that breaking this one will screw the whole country, but what do they care?

It actually accommodated everyone, not like the power was only on at kwaKhethomthandayo, it was on all over the country, no idea why people are so desperate to be outraged by this.

Desperate? People are asking why this expense was made under the given circumstances? Eskom made a public announcement that the grid was in dire condition only to announce hours later that they are going to take an extraordinary measure to allow the nation to witness a historical event.

An expense has a vast meaning. Eskom is technically bankrupt, and they had to burn reserves to allow this exception to the rule. It is the taxpayer and the ever-amassing debt which accommodated this event.

Load shedding has proven to be erratic, both people and businesses have to plan around load shedding where continuity isn’t always applicable hence, we do our best to schedule accordingly. We can’t accommodate and re-accommodate as it pleases.

Either we load shed or we don’t.

But it's not the first time Eskom has spent money burning diesel to keep the lights on? They have done this before to stave off load shedding, why are we only complaining now, because they dared to mention that they are doing it for the King?

Would we have complained if they just spent the money to keep the lights on if they didn't mention the King? I just don't understand if we have a problem with the power being on or if we have a problem with the power being on because of the King's funeral.

Because they dont have the power on to help other people at other times. So when people are dying because their ventilators ran out of power.

It just goes to show the priorities of those in power. Would rather spend R20m on letting people watch a funeral than fix pit latrines and stop kids dying horrible death falling in them.
