Did some further investigation, leaning more towards the Everest at this point.
Firstly I prefer the seats collapsing into the boot instead of hanging there like in the Fortuner. Secondly, there's a marked difference in price between the Everest XLT vs the Fortuner 2.8 range.
Then lastly my brother in law works for Ford so he's going to try and see what he can do on the price.
The mu-X seems way over priced for this segment and I also looked at the Pajero Sport but I just can't like those lights at the back.
Did a lot of research looking for a bigger car. I ended up with the Everest xlt instead of the 2.4 Fortuner for 2 reasons. The seats that fold down whereas the new fortuner, you need to take the car to the dealer to have the seats removed. Too much admin. The sacrifice is depth in the boot and a slight angle of the boot due to the seats not being totally flat.
The other reason was the hijacking of Fortuners compared to Everests.
Thus far, quite happy with the Everest. Will be taking it on a road trip over Dec.
