Just put it in 6th gear.
Did google it. Discovered that it isnt just Ford. And difficult to find anything significant for the last year. Seems the issue was around 2008-2013.

Gosh you don't get it. I'm saying, if there are 10 000 of something, and 100 get stolen/hijacked, then your risk is low.
If there are 100 of something and 10 get stolen/hijacked, your risk is much higher.
So the fact that there are millions of Fortuners around make it a low risk vehicle.

Actually had a good experience with webuycars selling my current car.
Guys pitched up at my house at 6am as arranged, checked everything out, went for a drive and by 7am deposit was in my account. Balance will be paid when they collect the car at my office later.
Initial trade offer at Ford was R60k, got it up to R80k and sold to webuycars for R100k.

I'm happy with what I got. Was offered R120k a year ago by another dealer on a trade. I had two different Ford dealerships look at the car and the best they could do was R80k.

So first 1000km's done and must say I'm actually very satisfied with the choice.
Decided to use the car to go on holiday. Because of the size we opted to simply use just it with a trailer instead of two vehicles. Back two seats offered more than enough space for my kids, center two for my wife and her mom and myself and father-in-law up front.
Didn't even notice the trailer was there and had to make myself look for it at times just to make sure it hadn't fallen off somewhere. It was really a case of just set a limit for max speed, get on the road and go. Nothing even seemed like an obstacle on the open road.
