Yokohama for new tyres?

I feel your pain man

I hit a brick in the road and the tyre had sidewall damage
my tyres were all round were in pretty decent shape

I found someone that had the same brand/model tyre in the garage from their previous car and also had similiar amount of tread left, so i put that on instead. the pic above happend about 3 months later. The tyre on the opposite wheel was perfectly fine.
 
I have had Michelin 255/35/R19 on my cab for years. In Dec I was due for new tyres and decided to try Toyo T1 Sports.

They are half the price (R5,200 vs R2,300) and so far both dry and wet handling has been great.

From the reviews I found when researching, they are a direct competitor to Michelin in Europe. People using them had good things to say so I went for it. Happy I did.

Just my 2c.

EDIT: If your tyre damage is caused by hitting something in the road, you can claim from your insurance. I did - twice (potholes) .
 
OK, so I didn't read through the whole thread so not sure if Hankook was mentioned. What are your take on them?
 
Closest thing to the sdrive of think is the t1sport. Yokohoma is only expecting shipment in mid Feb, so all I could find was ****ty adrive, and overpriced advan sports.

Ah, that was the ones I had on my Golf 5... Loved them, but expensive as hell.
 
I have Hankooks fitted and they are pretty decent, funny enough I would compare them to Yokohama.

I have always been a Bridgestone fan but I dont have any fast cars at the moment so the extra money is not worth it for me and would fit the Hankooks again if the price was right.
