"**** ***, you bloody ******"

I think you are all hypocrites and should be ashamed of yourselves. Even more so if you are so arrogant as to not understand that this woman is not a racist because of this 1 action.

I'm not sure that she was afraid or hurt bumping into that man. Unless you've read something I haven't that hasn't been suggested in any of the reports I've read. My, but you are generous in defending her and looking for all sorts of reasons that make it, in your mind, reasonable.

But whatever, maybe there were all sorts of extenuating circumstances and she would never otherwise use that word, but she did, and yes, that does make her a racist. I'm not going to try draw lines between a casual or occasional racist and a full-on white supremicist, but the use of that word to that man does make her racist.

Awwwwwwwww come-on! I have called people Dumb dutchies, does that make me a racist? oh drat! I married one.. I really must be a dumb sout-piel.

There are 2 types are people... (as pointed out by another poster) Racists, and Liars. Quit with this 'holier than thou' I am a better person nonsense... yes, she is a racist, just like the other person involved in the incident.

You go to the flea-market and get ripped off by someone, what do you say to yourself? "Fusking coelie/china/indian/arab ripped me off" - is that being a closet racist?

In utopia, where there are no races, I am sure that everyone will love each other.... but this is planet earth and everyone has their own views - face it! I dont like vanilla ice-cream and I will stand on a shoe-box and preach it... does that mean anything?

The English hate the Scottish people, French hate english ... <ad nauseum> its life - deal with it.... bring in a Black African, and then its all of a sudden Racism... the argument is getting thin and all this "*****-footing" about with political correctness is a load of Boll0x.

Did you know that if a woman kills someone during "that time of the month" , it is an allowed reason in a court of law and its a VALID reason that will be considered by the judge.

Anyone who says they are not a racist is a blatant liar. Get over it - everyone is a racist - make peace with it and move on..

Speak for yourself, Ricard.

If I got ripped off, yeah I'd swear to myself but that would be based on the character of the individual and not their race.

I don't think that that kind of attitude is as unusual as you believe it is.

I think you are trying to fool yourself.. you must be the only person on the planet that has a view that utopia is a small suburb of Boksburg. :D

If anyone tells me that they are not racist, I will call them a liar.
(and I am not referring to Black/White... there are many other races on this great earth)

do the Zulu people love the Xhosa? (and vice versa)?

Ahh, that's an easy way to argue - if people don't agree with your assumption, they must be lying?

Its the same argument of "Have you ever played with yourself?" .. If you said 'No', you are either the pope or have had your bits cut off or lying :D

yes, crude analogy - but its not nice to admit you are a racist... its not fashionable now to be racist.

"have you ever embellished your CV?" .. here is another question where if you said 'No' I wont believe you.

And I never beat my wife either.

I'm quite certain there're plenty of people here who haven't embellished their CVs.

How are Zulu people racist towards Xhosa people? (and vice versa)?

I have people I don't love.

Look at history, you are the last person I need to point at African heritage.. :D Zulu people prefer their own kind... and the same for Xhosa - its human nature.

Recard is a retard

Your basic arguement is that the woman cannot be labelled as a racist because there are a lot of racists out there.

This is a very surprising angle to take and it is also extremely flawed.

Firstly, she is a racist because of her actions. The fact that there are other racists out there is neither here nor there, and does not make her actions less despicable. A rapist is a rapist because he/she raped, the fact that there are other rapists out there does not make the act less dispicable nor less vile.

Secondly, the examples you stated as racist examples are just societal stereotypes, of course we are told that the English hate the French, but the english do not confer inferiority on the french because of their race or skin colour. Their view of the french is within the context of their mutual history. If you have been watching the tudors you will know that they tended to inter-marry especially their royalty, and on the basis of equality of their respective races.

The racial hatred between Xhosa's and Zulu's is a product of your hectic imagination.

This is not the first time I hear this especially from white folks. They seem to believe that Zulus and Xhosas are natural enemies. I wonder what the basis of this belief is so can you please elaborate?

yes, I am sure there are plenty that havent that havent doctored their CV's.... but when you interview people (like I have) in the IT world, most CV's are useless without a face to face interview so you can judge their character...

Dont worry... your cheque is in the mail. I promise, I posed it yesterday.

I did not say 'Enemies' - You are reading that in. I said 'Cultures look after each other and give preference to their own culture and people' :D

But back on topic.... is this being racist?

When it comes to a marriage partner, girlfriend, pals, you have an upsolute choice who you pick whether that be based on race culture or any other fictitious criterion of sort - suit yourself. Racism comes in when you start insulting poeple based on their race in public spaces as if you had a higher right to enjoy such public amenities based on your race. I salute this man for not losing his temper on this racist woman. I don't know how I would have handled such a situation.
An incident like this has not been reported in a long time and it had to be in CT no doubt.
what this woman said is similar to the "one settler one bullet", kill the boer, "kill the farmer" chants which were hate speech and were banned immidiately after democracy

Yes,this women insulted someone - yes, she is a racist (I am not arguing this) She made the mistake of saying it in public.

Behind closed doors everyone has slandered some race group in temper (watching news, sport etc etc)

Is there a difference? its OK to be a racist in private, but not acceptable in public?

change the words.... If you were involved in an accident and the other person got out the car and shouted "You fusking w@nker" .. is that a racist statement? Its not racist , but I personally dont want to be attacked with those words :D

Or even if 2 people of the same african ethnicity were in a collision and one shouted "You fusking dumb kaff... ", is that racial slur?

That lady is wrong.. but her slander was 'anger motivated' and 'race inspired' - NOT racism motivated as the media portray. This whole thing is the media trying to cause tension and sell papers.

Of course it's not OK, but who will know? We live in an information crazed world, where people are being forced into a single global village. One day intolerance will simply just not be accepted in a general society. Many kids are growing up all over the world entirely free of racial prejudice - so who is to say that in 4 or 5 generations time racial prejudice will largely be confined to isolated countries? Think of it this way, in under 200 years slavery has been abolished, women have been allowed into predominantly male powered worlds (from social clubs to sport to big business), black people have become free of oppression and even gay people are being afforded the right to marry and start families. The human race has overcome many taboos (40 years ago it was unheard of to speak about topics including sex in open society) in the last few decades alone. 20 years ago this country still censored books coming into the country - and sometimes even banned them outright. The Internet age has created one of the fastest evolving eras in human history, one where information is at your fingertips 24-7. In this crazy world where politics is enmeshed in people's minds like religions of old, there will thankfully soon be no place for racial ideologies. At some point people will have to accept we're all human and just deal with being little, mostly insignificant blobs on a very big radar panel.

Hell, life is too damn short to be so preoccupied with one's skin colour - let alone someone else's.

you can say the "k" word all you want in your living rooms, bedrooms etc, even though that is racist, it doesn't hurt anybody for as long as no one hears.

A racist person sees the race of a person before everything else and that what this woman did. there are so many other things she could have picked him on...but why "ka***". That's probably what she sees and thinks whenever she sees a black person, nuffsaid.

BTW black people can also be racist contrary to popular belief. I'll make one example. The word "collie" is also used by blacks to insult people of Indian origin. Those who use it know it offends and will use it with an intent to offend especially in Durban where there is big population of Indians. We were taught as kids that the word is inappropriate and should never be used

What people do behind closed doors, I honestly couldn't care. I'm not going to tell people what I think is the correct way for them to lead their lives.

But to display one's personal issues in public is a different matter altogether, that is unacceptable.

. Those who defend the actions of these woman are perpetuating irresponsibility, racial divide and are themselves endorsing racism.

Very few posting here defends the womans action as neither knows the woman and as such cannot blame her for being racist. That was a racist act indeed but you have to prove she is an racist per sé.

That said I do not care what you call some of these idiots. You can say She/He is a bl@@dy fool or are stupid and the fact you are white will raise the voice ten fold to attract the attention of the others and then make out you are a racist. One of these days we will read about someone necklaced for being a "racist".

Think of any name and if that is what the Apartheid government called the local natives (very good example) it would have been seen and deemed as racist. Even if they called them all "Chiefs" So Ya Rooinek, Ingelman :D flip maar jou bonnet die saak is maar net so!
