You can’t stop Bitcoin

Article is biased as it's coming from people who exist only because cryptocurrency exists. So of course they will praise it:

said Peter Van Valkenburgh, director of research at Coin Center, a Washington-based nonprofit research firm focusing on cryptocurrencies.

This bit also doesn't fit in with the title. So does the article mean nobody can stop Bitcoin from going up or down? Should have just left it out:

So where to next? John Spallanzani at GFI Group Inc. says $4,000 is the level to watch.

“If we hold at $4,000 we have a nice shot to make a new high on the year,” Spallanzani said. “If not, then it’ll roll over and retest the lows of $2,875.”

Aggg, I'm done with having 'the talk' with people. Its bubble, tulips, fad, fake, pyramid, whatever... people must do what they want, just don't come knocking on my door in ten years for a loan;)

Sounds like you'll fit in well with the religious folk in the philosophical debates section: "Just wait till your time comes, then you will see the truth." :D

In fact the the way people talk about Bitcoin, it almost seems like a religion now. Blind faith whilst ignoring possible flaws and brushing off criticism.

The media is so funny when it comes to crypto (and most other things for that matter), all I can do is smile and wave.

Price goes up, "ooooh yeah we have always been saying Bitcoin is unstoppable, see, see it going!?"

Price goes down "Yep, there is is now, Bitcoin is fake and we have always been saying it just a bubble! We told you so!"

I will be trading crypto and making money with it, I really can't care less if its in a bubble or not. This is probably the wrong approach to have, but we are in unknown territory here, we are hitting new highs constantly, and we will be in this kind of volatility for a long time still. Who knows where the "top" is, and that right there is the thing, nobody knows. Ride the waves and enjoy the profits while its there.

Not blind faith, I understand the tech and see where its going in future. EVERYTHING is going to be on blockchain, EVERYTHING, from how you order toilet paper to mining ai, anything and everything in between. Not maybe someday, its happening now, we're at the very beginnings of it. Arguments like 'these blockchains can go offline, banks more reliable' for example is not a criticism to be 'brushed off', its garbage, its not a 'flaw', for **** like that to happen the entire planet needs to go offline and have a power failure. 'Flaws' like 'what if the app doesn't work' 'what if theres a power out' 'standing in line because someones app isn't working is an inconvenience'... none of these are flaws or criticisms, **** happens every day with current pos systems, readers fail, paper runs out, power outs, bank card processing system goes down, lines go down, idiot doesn't know how to work the machine etc etc etc...

So where does one buy these Bitcoins? Who to trust?

Apparently don't waste your money on a car dude, they can break down, aren't reliable, need fuel, what happens when the garage runs out of petrol? You'll be walking... so many things can go wrong with it... stick to horses, much more reliable;)

Nobody has to stop it, just wait for it to die out by itself...

Why would it? With the ever increasing availability of information, more and more people lose faith in government institutions and will seek out alternatives.

Like I said, this now belongs in philosophical debates. No point in replying as it's just going to go in circles like the other thread. Believe what you will. We can revive this thread in 20 years and see if you were right.

Nobody has to stop it, just wait for it to die out by itself...

"I predict the Internet will soon go spectacularly supernova and in 1996 catastrophically collapse."

Robert Metcalfe (the inventor of Ethernet), 1995.
