Android again.

So?

WIndows have vulnerabilities.
iOS have vulnerabilities.
Linux have vulnerabilities.

No matter where you go, you will find vulnerabilities - this increases by a certain factor the more complex a system becomes...

Call customer centre. They will disable MMS service at the network level.
This is the safest way.

But that only works if one of those is set as your default messaging app.
What do we do if you are just using the normal default app on the phone? (not Hangouts or Google Plus).

OK got it... Easy.

Click on the Yellow and white messaging app icon.
Then click on settings.
Choose Multimedia Messages and disable auto-retrieval.

Yes and of course we're talking about vulnerabilities inherent in code, and thus you are correct. The more complex the more probable to not be perfect...

BUT the number of threats you face depends on among other things how "open" the system is. The fact is, if you have an Android device you really should consider running an anti virus. This is not the case on an Apple device for example. But that's not to say Apple devices are never vulnerable either, it is just a lot less vulnerable because it's a closed system.

(In 2013) McAfee reported it as...
