On Tuesday at 19h28 I wrote to [email protected] to report that the DSL (web)Mail interface is logging me out of my mail within 5 minutes of having logged on, both from work and from home, over and over. I did not receive the usual automated response with the ticket number from Afrihost; so on Wednesday morning I telephoned to report both, the initial problem and the fact that I don't get a ticket number upon writing to [email protected] --I spoke with Eric who gave me a ticket number of his own for both the above issues. His ETA was for yesterday evening and the situation did improve; but this morning the DSL (web)Mail interface is logging me out of my mail again; the problem is less bad but it's still there and I have no feedback from Eric yet; everything was working fine for quite a while; now who's changed the timeout for the DSL (web)Mail interface?? I can give you the ticket No via PM, whoever of you @Afrihost responds. Thanks in advance.

Hey there, NetUser. Sorry to hear that you haven't received feedback yet. Please drop me a PM confirming the ticket number that you received from our Team and I'll follow up on this. :)

Hello there,

A fellow with the name of Damon reverted to me (at your request?). The short of it is that he says that Afrihost has reduced the DSL Mail server timeout for the sake of security --all this seemingly without checking with your 2nd level. As my name here implies, I'm an experienced user and I also work in the field. My opinion on this matter is that Afrihost has reduced the timeout of its DSL Mail to save on server connections. Your changing that back to what it was before will be highly appreciated; let me worry about my own security. Please bear in mind that I picked Afrihost because you are a hosting company and I do NOT want my own mail domain. If I were with you just for your data, I'd be changing ISPs every few months. The bottom line is then whether you have the capacity to host DSL Mail against acceptable service parameters, including the doing away with the annoyingly short timeout. I'm also puzzled about why a logged out screenshot is necessary but I did submit it to comply with your requirements. Now it's time for Afrihost to comply with reasonable uptime in terms of the logon.

Afrifella,

The problem of the short timeout is not resolved. I sent you last week, the two different ticket numbers that I got on this issue but no solution yet. The question is: can I rely on Afrihost's DSL mail? Today it logged me out after about a minute of having logged on while I was reading my mail. Is Afrihost ignoring this issue??

Heya NetUser. I can see that you have been working with our Support Team to resolve the matter over the weekend. I'll look into your ticket and request further feedback.
