It should be 45% + Vat but Temu/Shein orders don't get the full pain but it's getting there, some guys on this thread have had some pretty high duties charged on clothes.wife wants some clothes

I just paid duties on 2 orders that shipped together:
Order one R 210, used R150 off voucher
Order two R1 400, used R650 off voucher
Duties R280 - 17% of the total checkout value, which is pretty much in line with what we have been paying up till now.
In my experience, both as a sender and receiver, duties are only levied on the actual invoice amount paid.
Yup my last order was R467, tax was R114, which is 24% but it was 3 shirts and a pair of shoes. Also noticed that makeup and nail stuff can also be a bit higher.any clothing ?
yeah pretty much +-20% is normal on temu
Zero clothingany clothing ?

Depends on what code they use ,but it will fall under textiles and clothing ,if declared properlyYou think those microfiber cleaning clothes will count as clothing?
A mouse pad did by the looks of itYou think those microfiber cleaning clothes will count as clothing?
I need a new mouse pad tooA mouse pad did by the looks of it. Just got R104 off a R420 order

This took 9 days from order to delivery in my hands, very impressive.Well I just got duties of R53 on a R199 order, no clothing in the order.
That's the bread and butter of Temu for me. There are just little things that you can't get locally at all, or you can but it's just an import that costs 20 times more than getting it from Temu yourself.massive range of stuff that is often very difficult to source in South Africa

Doesn’t the “higher” tax rate affect orders under R500?A mouse pad did by the looks of it. Just got R104 off a R420 order

I just placed a R900 order with two mouse pads and no clothes. Normally I’d expect around R150 pay in.Not as yet

My average is 17% over 18 orders. That sounds about right
