ZA Bitcoin Mining Pool

Sadly the hacking killed bitcoin, if they had secured it better bitcoin would be going like a steam train but sadly the lack of security and ease of theft effectively killed what was a very good idea.

Sad that i only got into it so late, could have made a mint if i had not thought it was scam for so long :(. I should have known it was not scam because nobody was asking for money or upfront payments for bitcoin. The only thing you could lose was money on the hardware you bought. There was little to no risk but it looked a scam and sadly it wasn't.
 
Seemed a bit like a pyramid scheme whereby the early adopters were in a better financial position then late comers.

No a pyramid scheme in general means you have to sell to other people and those people sell to other people. You don't have something you can say is worth x amount.

If you had one bitcoin and it was worth 20 dollars that is what you could get in your bank account, you could trade and make bitcoins. People who got in early and setup mining farms would have made a killing. Some people made millions.

What killed bitcoin was the hacking of accounts. If they secured it, bitcoin could very well have become a currency. So many shops were taking bitcoins as payment.
