And what is happening with their 3G? Have not heards anything for a while now about that. Gaytechie mentioned something about CellC having 3G in durbs.

Will be interesting come October to see what they offering regarding Blackberry. Will their pricing be the same @ R59.00? Time will tell I guess.

Well, I'm thinking you can't launch a Blackberry service without at least 3G, so to me that says that the upgrade is complete and the launch is imminent.

Both Vodacom and MTN have launched prepaid Blackberry offerings which at R59 per month provide subscribers with unlimited data and the full suite of Blackberry services.

Huh? Full suite of services? What about OTA calendar and contact synch?

Theres only 2 BBs on the market with 3G. 4 BBs altogether. The rest use EDGE/GPRS.
Not sure why it took Cell C so long...

I also still get "Paid applications are not available in your country"

Most BB's are EDGE/GPRS.

Good for them that they are getting these services in place because that is all Blackberry is about. I get the feeling they make phones as an accessory to their services and not the other way round.

You get what you pay for. Some people prefer cheaper call rates over fancy cellphones.

Now if i could have a Blackberry android phone...all the apps and free bandwidth....my bill is already on R400 excluding calls LOL

PS Cellc's 3.75G network is already live :) just not to the public....

Why is the photo on the front page for this article a picture of a woman holding a Samsung phone?

I spoke to one of the managers at CELLC and they enabled the blackberry service for me even tho it is still b4 the official release.
I was assured that official launch date is July 15th (tomorrow).
I was also informed that BIS will cost R57 and BES will be double that at R114.

I must be honest, even with 2 techies calling me and emails to 3 guys heading the BB project, they couldn't get the 'email setup' icon to appear on my BB. My only solution was to switch back to mtn. I'm sure it was just a teething problem and will be solved at official launch.

It just appears from the myBB article that it will take a little longer than that...

With bandwidth priceses dropping.. maybe they should give some freebie bandwidth for pc usage but keep the price the same. or drop price to entice younger market/school + university market?
