Telkom Simple: ADSL 384 and some free calls

Well free installation is a start, now they just need to drop the price.
 
Well, not so much a new service as a combination of two products, which you could get for the same price. At least the installation fees are gone, though.
 
The installation fees were ridiculous. They were a huge barrier to entry for most people.

Imagine paying R1118 for installation - hectic.

Let's not forget about the R900 you have to pay for a router.
 
Existing customers?

This has absolutely no benefit to existing customers.

I think this is definitely a move in the right direction from Telkom, for a change -- innovating their fixed-line market :) Hope to see more, and maybe in the not too distant future, to see Techies deploying new alarmed cables (or fibre) on all those poles where copper has been stolen ! That's the only way Telkom will repair itself for the long term, if you ask me
 
Oh btw Telkom can we first please get the 10MB stuff sorted and everyone upgraded before you put on more ADSL subscribers...
 
Installation has always been free anyway if you chose a closer 1,2 or 3 package for the landline and did a self-install for the adsl circuit. There's absolutely nothing new here.
 
1Gb data every month. We are going backwards.

At R369 per month one should get uncapped at a faster speed as a minimum.
 
How's this for false advertising then.

The full page ad in the Sunday Times makes no mention of data cap of 1 Gb. Instead the ad says it's enough data allowance for the whole family.

Maybe they mean the average Zuma family who's too busy ****ing to use the internet. :D
