Best free antivirus?

Hi there

I just got a new pc and don't have any money left for a antivirus.
I was wondering what is the best free antivirus out there today?

I got norton internet security with my mobo but it only has a 60 free trial lisence.

Microsoft Security Essentials wins this one hands-down... least amount of bloat, and does things quite nicely...

Yep, I think you will find most of the fundis on this board have switched over to MSE.

It's great... go to the Microsoft.com website. Click on all Products and then on Microsoft Security Essentials. And download from there.

It's nice because it has low overhead (doesn't lag your system) and it integrates perfectly with windows. Updates are also pretty reasonable (not too huge).

Since I switched to MSE, never a problem.
 
I use MSE and it's excellent! The updates work fine and I download a offline update in advance when i'm re-installing Windows.
