ASA rules that Telkom 384Kbps ADSL is not 'fast internet'

...The ASA subsequently ruled that the references to “FAST” and all corresponding references are misleading, and should be withdrawn with immediate effect.
Thank you ASA.

384 is not bad if you're only browsing web sites and receiving mail, but yeah 384 is definitely not considered as being fast.

That's how people used the Internet in 1990. Telkom needs to move with the times.

Well done to the complainant, Bavesh Pema, for doing his homework, and making an intelligent, compelling and reasonable argument. Well done to the ASA for listening.

Now if only we could say something nice about Telkom too...

so they will just remove the fast internet advertising and still milk people for 384 lines...

Telkom is taking advantage of the majority of ADSL subscribers who dont know much about it and dont even use up all of their whopping 1GB of data per month.
for them, i suppose, 384k is fast considering they were most probably using dial-up(like me) not long ago.
if every ADSL subscriber knew the reality of the situation -how badly we are getting ripped off with telkoms high prices and slow speeds, there would be much more noise being made.
