Thank you Multichoice.
Seems like DSTV's subsidizing Mwebs uncapped accounts. Strange the hike was not higher :D

All I read there was blah blah blah I am a Dirty (greedy) Tramp!

The cost of doing business? Sounds like you have some morons running your business there. How come the general trend in the rest of the world is for prices to decrease? And they are already running at a third of your current costs.

Sounds like some smelly BS greedy double speak to me. DSTV is one of the biggest rip-offs in SA.

What I think is that Multichoice should design a Bouqeut that taylors for the individuel, like for instance pay a set ammount and the you can choose lets say 10 channels and multichoice gives you some other channels that no-one wathces anyways........

Well i do not think they care what everyone thinks. It is all money that is it. I want to see all the HD Channels that they are going to give us?

Also where is the F1 in HD? they claim that they listen to everyone and what everyone wants but i have to differ.

All these FREE Services i want to see a list of them and how to get them......

"This [price increase] is to enable us to continue to provide the same quality of service into the future."
Well, if I was still a subscriber this statement would have ensured that I cancel my subscription! I would have expected an improved service!

I SECOND THAT :)

I assume a large portion of their costs is to pay for overseas content. But I didn't see them dropping their prices with the stronger rand (or any improvement in the quality.)

It is not possible, Multichoice says it will not be affordable. How they know that God only knows - they certainly never asked me

Groenewald pointed out that over the past year MultiChoice added 8 channels to the DStv platform and introduced a new lower-price bouquet, DStv Lite. These channels are Discovery Channel in HD, Mzansi Magic, SONY MAX, Afromusic, M-Net Movies 1 HD, Food Network, Kidsco and SuperSport HD2.

But when they launched these channels, it was advertised as free... :erm:

That is so true :) I wounder if they will have a poll now or we can have on the site to see how many ppl think this :)

Translated means we're going to pay more to see the same repeats we saw last year (and all the years before) and they're not investing in any decent new channels.

Exactly. A large proportion of their expenses must be overseas content. Add to that a low inflation and interest rate environment. I call complete BS.

Ag man hierdie hele ding is 'n k@k storie. Moet ek nou goed voel omdat julle verniet DSTV on demand vir my gegee het, wtf? Het julle gedink ek gaan twee subscriptions betaal net om te kan stream oor die internet ook. Hoekom adverteer julle deur die jaar en se julle julle gee gratis sony max ens ens kanale, as mens eintlik daarvoor wel betaal.
Niks is verniet by hierdie maatskappy nie.

MultiChoice added more than 360 000 new subscribers in South Africa in the six months to September 30, handily beating its new rival On Digital Media, which launched TopTV in May.

Interim financial results from media group Naspers, which owns MultiChoice, show that the pay-TV operator added 498 000 during the six months from April to September across its Africa operations.

Do not tell me they had to increase the fee. Bullsht i say. Pure greed
