just moved to a new place, applying 4m uncapped now, found complaints in this forum for almost all uncapped service. I do most downloads during after 7PM, which isp is still acceptable so far? thanks.

only good uncapped is mweb and openweb gold.

depends on yoru usage say under 300gig mweb should be good, 300gig+ go openweb gold.

Does anyone have this account with OpenWeb?

Hi Plugandplay

If you would like to be contacted by one of MWEB's sales consultants, to obtain more information on the products that would suit your needs; please PM me your contact details and I will arrange that they make contact with you.

Kind regards,
MWEB Ops

Stay away from Mweb. They are shaped into oblivion except simple browsing. Despite numerous complaints, they seem to have increased the severity of the shaping. In order to get the most out of Mweb, you have to download all the time, and if you do download, then you can't do anything else at the same time. Not great for families.

Oh well just to add, I can easily (and very often do) download at the same time as 1 or more of the 3 PC's in my house browse/IM/download themselves on my MWeb uncapped. Where do you get the idea that you can't do anything at the same time while downloading.. surely you at least mean everything else would be slowed down? I suppose you were only on 384, which alone on any ISP isn't great for families if you're downloading as well, simply because it's 384kb. The OP is asking about 4mb so I don't think your post applies.

And hey I can still max my line on filehosts any night, DL torrents etc.. do everything except simple browsing.

But Id say Openweb Gold is a better idea if you want to pay the extra R200 or so for it. I also wouldn't get 384kb shaped uncapped, it's just too slow when you shape 384kb and try to share that between a few PCs.

He wants to download after 7, but the shaper only loses its grip (slightly) after 1am.

Go with Mweb, I don't use torrents but regular downloading, streaming etc, no shaping at all, I get full speeds 24/7. Not to mention Mweb have the most money and most reliable in terms of support. I am streaming some NBA games as we type in HD...Mweb FTW.

I wouldn't go with mweb, last 3 weeks I'v seen a bad degrade with kerns service/network, doesn't seem to be doing so well, Alot of clients of mine are moving away from their uncapped service, after hours I couldn't comment on but business hours are bad!

I'm happy with mweb. Do about 60GB pm on a 384k line

Yeah I've heard MWeb is fine for 384, unfortunately it is NOT suited for 4MB and a family of hungry internet users, OpenWeb Gold is the only one that's been able to handle my requirements and on weekends its absolutely brilliant! ^.^
