OK, as promised here are the final details on this deal.

Mods, can you please glue this up and help move the explosion of posts in any other thread in here, so VD and myself can answer in one place.

In essence, like the ad said: A 12-month contract @ R149/month giving 2GB of 'normal' data and 2GB of Night Owl data.

• This promotion is valid for new 12-month data contracts in respect of the Broadband Standard MyGig 2 tariff plan signed between 1 May 2011 to 31 July 2011.
- To qualify for this offer you will need to sign a 12 month contract for the Broadband Standard MyGig 2 tariff plan on Vodacom’s standard terms and conditions (the Agreement’). You will also qualify if you upgrade to a Broadband Standard MyGig 2 tariff plan on a 12 month data contract.
• This promotion is not available:
- To customers on Prepaid services;
- Top Up customers.
• This is a promotion so customers with existing contracts cannot migrate to this offer.
• The current monthly charge for the Broadband Standard MyGig 2 tariff plan is R 349 per month (incl VAT) but in terms of this promotion the monthly charge has been reduced to R 149 per month (incl VAT) on a 12 month data contract after which the terms and conditions of the Agreement will apply.
• Unused data will carry-over to the last day of the next month except on cancellation of the contract and excludes any unused data in terms of the Night Owl offering.
• This promotion includes a Night Owl offering. You will therefore be entitled to 2GB per month to use between 12 am and 5 am but any unused data will not be carried over to the next month.This promotion also includes:
- A 7.2 Mbps modem;
- Geek support to set you up;
- Free email with 5 GB storage capacity.

Thanks for clearing this up Jannie. So it is as my memo said. I posted in one of the other threads dealing with this that it is a 12 month contract and the peep threw a quote at me from the website of something stipulating it is a 24 months contract. I felt like a real noob. My self confidence has not yet recovered from it! :-(

So the 12 month contract will not automatically terminate after 12 months?

If you forget to cancel you will be paying R 349 per month from month 13.

No contract does. Once your 24 month, or in this case, 12 month contract reaches it's term data, you have to give us written permission to terminate the line and cease billing.

All new lines that gets activated is done with a predefined call limit. This however can be reduced on request of the client.

Vodacom can however not guarentee the line will be locked as soon as the limit is reached. It is a best effort service.

No, Vodacom must ask me if I want to continue after month 12. Check the CPA!

So you can have R10 000 OOB chargers and you must pay for it even if you have a R200 credit limit?
 
Too bad about the topup, will now have to find a way to limit my usage with software and I don't think the default vodafone software is accurate enough.

We will be calling you within 40 to 80 days before the contract term date to ask if you want to renew or cancel.
