Cell phone anxiety

More than 90 per cent of Taiwan students worry or panic when they cannot use their cell phones, according to a survey released Wednesday.

Shame, im a student and some days i leave my phone on silent to get away from all the bull****, people are far to involved with each others lives now-a-days, and people broadcast way to much of their lives.

I'm a student, and I've become notorious for just not looking at my phone for hours because I'm busy with stuff :o, which pisses off the girlfriend a lot, but I really don't see the need?

I used my cellphone as a tool to communicate with people, when I want to... I can't even imagine how much BBM would drive me up the wall. I also have had a number of situations where I didn't have a cellphone on me, and I had to make a plan, which numbs your need a little.

Perhaps this sums it up:
A friend was standing at the gents urinal when his cellphone rang - he answered. Chirped his colleague: Jeepers, can't you even have a pee without that thing bothering you!

I know a person who can't go one second without typing on her cellphone and drives me mad.

When we took her to a cheetah game reserve all she did was type on her phone instead of enjoying the scenary and taking nice walks.

So now we never take her anywhere with us unless she leaves her phone at her house

Makes me wonder what they would have done if cellphones/internet were not invented :P

There was a thread on another forum I visit, about cellphone usage in movies. Some people had had enough with people talking on their cellphones, and wanted to install what is called a Faraday cage to block cellphone radiation and hence render them useless inside a cinema.

The interesting thing was some people's reaction to the idea, how irate they became. It was like, the idea of living without cellphone reception for 2 hours was horrifying to them. 2 hours!

I find it funny when I get crapped out by various people for not responding to bbm's / sms's / emails 'fast' enough

Case in point... I left my phone at home today while going to Uni... spend a full day there, and the only issue I had was "ah, ****, what's the time?". Never felt this need for a phone...

Side note, on the way back from uni, I realized I left my bag, with this whole semesters notes in it, at wits. Now that's anxiety and panic right there.

Heh, I'm with Scotty here, most annoying thing about not having my cellphone with me, is not knowing the time. :D

I love going to movies/finding other reasons for putting my phone on silent or switching it off. Since I have had a smartphone, I always put it offline when I go to sleep, and am suprised by the amount of people that were amazed I didn't have the thing on 24/7. :wtf:

Then these same people (that leave their phones on 24/7), complain when they receive Lottery Winning Notification SMSes at 2 in the morning. :erm:

I like taking my time to reply to stuff. I can leave my phone unattended for hours and be perfectly happy.

Yes, I am a student.

Not a student, but I also get anxious when I don't have my phone with me!
