Morning everyone.
I hope I can explain a few things here. Yes, recently we have been having network issues, however with this - it's showed what we need to sort out and have done so. We've achieved this by rebuilding a major part of our network as well as chatting to our supplier to get the best possible hardware, with the best possible performance gains.
Earlier on this month, we suffered our biggest outage on our network, which has been explained
here
I can safely say that all these issues are 100% sorted out and we're back up and normal running capacity.
Unfortunately yesterday, 26th September, one of the
local Google cache clusters went down causing extra load on our upstream links. Capacity is there, however the caching server is in place to reduce load on our links. When the caching server responds slowly or goes down completely in the case of yesterday, a lot of extra load is placed on the links causing slow browsing and generally degraded service levels on our network.
The caching server issue was present between 11:28 and 20:20 yesterday. Again, all issues are resolved.
On September 23rd, we experienced a fairly large
DDoS attack on our network. This type of issue is extremely hard to isolate and fix in a short period of time, however this should not have lasted longer than 3 hours.
Going forward, I hope we can see a more stable WA Network - but I'd like to emphasise our Networking guys do work extremely hard on keeping things stable and going at superior quality standard.
