MWEB ADSL and e-mail problems (21 September 2011)

Additionally, all Naspers sites (News24, DSTV, Supersport) were unavailable until about 10 minutes ago too.

Check under "Other" for the email ticket still being open
 
This is the kind of service you come to expect from Mweb.
 
Naughty Mweb, sounds like someone had not tested the fail over :P
 
not just ADSL....leased lines too.
our company leased line went down also, 2nd time in a week.
luckily could prop up the 3G router in place of the WAN router, and get people working again... but with 50+ users with email and biz needs, it does become an expensive excerise on Voda3G if it takes too long to get leased line live again.

got the sms early 06h31 about Seacom issues... internet still working then 08h17, sms that seacom issues resolved.... about 9'ish the leased line died,

on the 19th I dropped a lot while playing my PlayStation online .. yesterday was a bit better .. hopefully it gets sorted soon.

yeah.... but signal :-(
here, out in the sticks, 8ta roams on MTN, which is crappy.... at least voda good signal, and good speeds.... just need to get data bundles loaded.

so it wasn't seacom but an actual Mweb swtich, and the back up failed as well.

I just want to know why redundancy measures are not tested when they are put in place. Did some techie really just plug a second switch in next to the first one and hope that it would fail over to it?

Meh! my torrents still downloading at my max line speed. :D :D :D

But I am outraged! Outraged I tell you by the possibility that my downloading could be interrupted for even a moment.
