iPhone 4S South African launch date revealed

Cool.
Im waiting for the prices. Siri uses data, hope they make a plan and offer some good data bundles with it.

Not worthy of an announcement I suppose. It surprises me why the iPhone gets a fanfare welcome & other things are just available & no one notices.

This is the last we heard of the Galaxy Nexus: http://mybroadband.co.za/news/gadgets/36542-galaxy-nexus-coming-to-sa.html

I'll certainly follow up closer to the time.

Also, here's the feedback we're received to date on if there are any details available about which devices will get upgrades to ICS in SA: http://mybroadband.co.za/news/gadgets/38823-android-ice-cream-sandwich-upgrade-details-for-sa.html

Spoiler alert, outside of Motorola and Samsung, the answer is "no."

On a public holiday... shame poor employees.

I predict R449 per month with 100MB for 24 months.

now with the rand being as worthless as it is we should see more expensive packages... at least vodacom wont try pull a R1000pm contract with MTN around...

I've just updated the article. MTN said: "Me too!"
I just phoned one of the mtn shops. they say only in two months time. but in my experience the left hand doesnt know what the right hand is doing there, so that statement doesnt surprise me.

Siri hardly uses any data. I've got an iPhone 4S and when I use Siri to create reminders, call a contact etc, my data balance remains relatively unchanged.

Bye-bye BlackBerry, after having an iPad i just fell inlove with Apple, definately getting this one, and MTN has been sending me sms's weekly that i'm due for an upgrade as if i don't know, just that i've been waiting for a right phone before i upgrade.

On my iPhone contract it comes with 500mb data. And as far as I am aware, Siri uses about 30mb a month

The iPhone 4 (and now the iPhone 4S) is a biggest selling phone in america. The Galaxy Nexus is not.
That is why it has no fanfare
