Seems if your site aint on the MWEB likes list, you get 40 kilobytes a second.
eg: all the filesharing sites, porn streaming sites. Oh, I forget it's my fault we have no legal avenue to download the latest movies and series.

Youtube: if the vid aint on the front page, wish you luck streaming for 5 seconds then loading for 30. Load up any other account and like magic its working perfect!

MWEB carving out its censored version of the internet, what it feels you can be allowed to see.

Looks like we'll see another 1000 page thread for MWEB uncaped. Wonder why that is?

Red Hat Certified here, don't need any technical advice.

If you want proper internet you need to pay a bit more.

Try Openweb GOLD.

OH right R599 isn't enough money to these thieves?

That argument is weak.

Dude. You have no idea how much it really costs to provide you with internet. All the MWEB and cheaper pricing is really nothing. You can't expect a lot from it. An unshaped account from MWEB is 2grand a month. so the shaped ones are a 4th os the price. So expect a 4th of the performance.

and no. I don't work for Openweb. I'm just a happy user that moved over from MWEB.

If I could afford to I'd get an unshaped uncapped account. I just can't so GOLD shaped is the next best thing.

There must be some catch, right? Besides the higher price, of course.

Nope. No catch.
It's a lower contention network.

With "regular" internet, there's say 40 users. There's space for 20 to operate at maximum any given time. This is based on the assumption that all 40 users won't use that space simultaneously. On a lower contention network, you have ie 40 guys, and space for 30 to work at max simultaneously.

No catch. There's no stupid FUP either. It just works. PLUS if a particular backbone is giving you issues you can request to be moved to a different one.

Never gotten any less than full speed on my mweb 1mb line, be it steam, upload, com, megaupload, torrent, nntp, ftp. You name it and I don't have problems with it.

I tried openweb gold on all 3 backbones and they are terrible compared to mweb. I was using it for 3months so think i gave it a good chance to proove itself.

i've been with OW Gold for a while, OW gold problem is their unstable download speed, sometime it can be full speed 300-400k especially during the midnite, but i also experienced a lot of very weird situation like 20-30k during the day, so i need to ask Mr Keoma to swap the backbone from VB to Openweb is account almost every week.
