Cell C launches R0.15 per MB data rate across all bundles

wish i was not tied down to a mtn contract want to jump ship so bad! with those offerings i don't mind the quality of the network. Or maybe i should just get a prepaid sim from cell c

Obvious comparison...

Vodacom OOB: R2/mb... and still they feel justified ripping South African's wallet's through their... ja you know what...

CellC OOB: R0.15/mb... more than decent

MTN OOB: anything from R0.65 to R0.19 depending on the original data bundle size... in fact I was surprised to see their rates differ to the VC's... strange ne'

8ta OOB: R0.30/mb

From this analysis, Vodacom are truly in the dark ages, MTN has caught a complicated wake-up, 8ta... we'll let them be... they'll probably follow CellC soon... else they toast... and CellC is clearly busy redefining the mobile market!

A view from the sidelines, IMHO VC's Uys doesn't have the stomach for a fight with AKC! Hehe!

Thank you AKC, we appreciate CellC's total lack of BS! (Oh and Jannie, AKC's light sabre is green! :D )

Well Done Cell C, paying R75 for 500mb on pre paid is a very good offer for just mobile use and then still paying the same amount for out of bundle rates is just the cherry on top.

The table must be the most senseless ever published anywhere, unless it was intended for those of us who can't multiply! 15c/Mb is 15c/Mb, regardless of what you multiply it with.
What I do appreciate is that CellC doesn't use the same bean counters VC use that make a mockery of the concept of bulk-buying being cheaper. Maybe in its next round CellC will pitch larger bundles are lower rates.
:erm: Has somebody asked Jannie if these rates are sustainable? :D

3GB for R400 for 12 months is still better. Hope they don't do away with that bundle.

These prices are way better than anyone else though for low MB users.

once my current vodacom prepaid bundle runs out, i'm switching to cell C... have been putting it off for too long ...

what does jannie have to say about this? :P

As a sign of respect, VC reps don't comment in competitors threads... that and VC's light sabres are red... you know what that means!

Hehe!

no point buying bundles then.

Being telling people this a while now. If you make OOB rates low, then there is no need for bundles, no need to make sure you get your monies worth end of each month by rushing to use up unused data, no more strain at the end of the month on networks with all rushing to download........just use what you want, when you want it ....

if i buy a prepaid sim card now use 10mb will i only be paying R1.50 for that 10mb?

i have cellc contract so wont be buying a prepaid sim card, just wanted to make sure :P

Wait can load this bundles on a normal voice sim card or is it data sim only?

Does this mean that on the straight up package's , the current OOB of 99c will be 0,15c ??? Cellc rep?

If this is so, there goes the need for BIS!
