Really? Why do you say that? Digital data transmission is not really a finite resource. It can grow almost infinitely as more transmission paths are added and transmission technology improves. International bandwidth is as cheap as chips and getting cheaper. I don't see the scarcity problem, here.

Someone should ask Telkom why, if business is so good, are we still paying so much to get connected.
 
This from the people who said 3GB is enough as the majority of people don't use more than their allotted 3GB....

He is playing off what the ISPs said in the early days of uncapped.
 
Anybody else remember telkom saying there isn't demand for uncapped as people didn't buy more than 3gig at a time

Who would've thought that people would start making use of more bandwidth if it became more affordable? Madness I tell you.

They must be thinking: "Wow the usage actually was contrained by cost, who would have thought. We honestly believed that the reason all the peeps weren't spending R1m a month on a higher cap was because they didn't need it, rather than them not being able to afford it. Derp!"

We can laugh about it now but the sad thing is the cellphone networks are just as silly as ever. They still think that 200MB a month is enough for a modern smartphone...

I listened to the audio again a few minutes ago and Bashier definitely said five-fold increase, and I'm sure I heard "Terabits". Will listen again later tonight and triple-check.
