It runs as well, if not faster. Everything works - I have yet to install an IR remote app to test with, but I didn't use that functionality anyway. Best part was Xposed is basically unnecessary for UX changes. It's all built in. :)

Just an update, cm has knock code, just double tap the status bar then it will turn off.

You need to activate the code. Under "display & lights" under settings is the wake option, double tap to wake and under Interface -> status bar -> is douple tab to sleep setting to make it sleep.

Camera under cm is slow compared to lg stock. Takes longer to take a photo under cm.

I'm using Google Camera - CM's camera was never up to scratch, even on my S2.

Any chance you can give me a link to the method you used to install Cyanogen?

  1. Copy the install zip of CyanogenMod to your phone (http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=d802). Copy the GApps zip as well if you want to use Google services, Play Store, etc. (http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Google_Apps)
  2. Install TWRP using AutoRec.
  3. Reboot into Recovery.
  4. Wipe System, Cache and Dalvik (Factory Reset).
  5. Install CM zip.
  6. Install GApps zip if required.
  7. Reboot.

Be warned - I take no responsibility for how your phone reacts, or turns out after following these directions. They are merely the process I followed (ignoring the 12 hours I spent trying to restore my device to Stock :p)

Yeah I ignored CM's suggestion to use CWM, find TWRP to be much nicer to use - must say all in all the whole rooting/romming went quite smoothly
 
I also went in for the Sony last week and ended up taking the G2 after advice from the sales assistant. Very happy with my choice so far.
 
T-5 days and counting until my upgrade.

Seriously thinking about waiting to see the announcement about the G3 tonight though.
Then again, Vodacom is absolutely going to schnaai us when the phone comes out with the high contract prices :(
 
I looked at the G3 specs. I wonder if it is worth upgrading from the G2... Same camera, same RAM. SD Card may well be worth it, as is the laser focus assist. Not sure if the screen is such a big deal. Also, was hoping to see the 805 processor, not the 801.
 
Is anyone else having issues with the G2 when playing clash of clans??
I noticed that there are phantom screen touches after playing clash of clans for about 5mins.

My G2 is running KitKat

Running CyanogenMod but want to go back to stock now that KitKat is official. Anywhere I can download the Vodacom firmware?

See firstpost. Link to download firmware. There is no firmware for Vodacom, Only South Africa, from my understanding.

Just a Note. CM is great, but for me battery life on it was not so great compared to Stock. If you use bluetooth, there seems to be a bug on bluetooth, it drains your battery. That was still active about a week ago. You can switch off Bluetooth when you do not use it, it will improve the battery life.

I also got three days the biginning of the week on stock KitKat. Which is great and by stock I mean LG Firnware. Just wish I can fix the ugly dropdown they have on their firmware.

BTW this is my opninion don't throw bricks ;)

I hadn't noticed the bluetooth bug, and I use my BT headset daily.
