Official LG G2

Right...

Forget about the above posts.
My head was not where is should have been when trying to root & Xpose. (I'll blame the pc's here at work dying and needing a MoBo transplant and re-install while I was playing with my phone)

That'll teach me to multitask.

Everything is sorted :D

Still worth getting G2? Not sure if its still available but I need a new phone and want something nice but do not want to spend R500 per month.

G2 seems to have most things I need, great screen, camera, performance, battery etc.

Is the UI as bad as everyone says? improved after kitkat?
How are you finding the black one?

G2 has great battery, never used a SD card on my phones.

Definitely! Vodacom has it on special at R299 per month on the Smart S, if you're with them that is...

But otherwise yes, I change phones often and I really don't see what I could change to next... Only potential replacements I'd maybe consider would be the S5 and G3.

Thanks. Had a good look today at Canal walk. Can't say I'm a fan of the gloss plastic & UI.

I only change phones every 2 years so I'm super fussy. Also had a look at the Z2 and wasn't blown away. S5 is out of the question.

Looks like its HTC one m8 or G3.

This phone is kinda old, but I'm still contemplating getting it, as it is great value for money and nothing is really outdated in the phone..

Should I??

Go for it if you get a good deal. If you can save money by getting the G2 And you don't need the G3 features, then do so. If money and time aren't issues, wait for the G3

No removable battery, limited internal storage....enough said.

Try and shoot a HD movie of your kids, and see how quickly the 32GB onboard storage fills up.

You need more, trust me on this. ;)

And trust me when I say get a proper case for this phone, anyone have any suggestions where to buy a replacement screen & digitizer ? Not sure if there's a thread for this already.

Oh no. What happened? /cringes

Well I had the original window case on, but must say that didn't help at all. It fell out of my pocket onto a tile floor and that's all she wrote.

Now looking at repairing it myself as I don't have 2.7k atm for a repair, wish we weren't extorted here in SA, as a repair of the screen & digitizer in the US cost $105, picked up at your home & dropped of in no more than 2 days at your home, all for $105.

Why is it 3x that over here. arrgghhh.

As soon as LG starts selling more phones in SA, the support will improve a lot.

I reckon the G3 might prompt LG to do exactly that....and don't exclude a LG ADH premium in the future. ;)

I totally agree in the case of storage. I have a 16GB that's got just under 1GB left (I don't/can't use my phone for music so I kept my 64GB iPod).

Removable battery doesn't really bother me but if one needs it, then yes.

If one wants a phone now and doesn't care about improvements or is getting a significant discount, I'd say it's still worth going for. This phone hasn't become bad just because of the G3.
