No connection on LTE

So I have the apn option from Afrihost. My sim is in a iphone 5 with LTE working on the internet/myMTN apn.

The problem is when I use the afrihost apn I don't have any internet access... If I switch LTE off then afrihost apn works on 3G/EDGE and GPRS....

Is this normal? Why would LTE work on the MTN apn but not on the afrihost apn? :confused:
 
I could not connect the whole of yesterday. According to my app, I only used about 50meg out of the 500 additional bundle I used so the rest I have lost now :cry:

It is working OK again today.

This is odd indeed, the APN should definitely work as long as the SIM has been provisioned for LTE.
Is there a specific APN for LTE use on the iPhone? If so - have you re-entered the Afrihost APN details to this field?
 
No the iphone only has 3 apn settings.... 1 for cellular data, 1 for mms, 1 for wifi hotspot.

I have the setting for cellular and wifi hotspot set to afrihost. On 3G and EDGE the apn works fine. Once I go into a LTE covered area then no connection at all. See the screenshots below....

I think MTN might have enabled my number only for 3G and EDGE to access afrihost apn. Once I switch it to the myMTN or internet apn and MTN charges me for data then it works fine. Maybe you can escelate it with MTN for me showing the pictures so they can understand what exactly is happening...

Works fine when I disable LTE or of I make a call or check my balance quickly so it switches back to 3G. But not long after that it goes back to LTE and then no connection again

Even in an LTE areas there should be 3G or 2G coverage available - in fact I would guess 3G since they are usually in more major centres as they are rolled out to smaller areas. Have we provisioned LTE for you as yet? Maybe we need to do that for you to solve this mystery - provided you have an LTE capable SIM.
 
Well my contract sim works fine with LTE when I use myMTN apn.... Only the afrihost apn does not work.... So if the default apn works with LTE the I doubt its a simcard issue...
 
No resolution in sight looks like. I have emailed support now. If it doesn't get fixed by end of next week I'm canceling...
 
Just a we are looking into it via support on the 4th.... Still no feedback or resolution, I'm canceling now
