This is such a shame that they had to let this happen :/ never had any issues with them and minimal issues with my connection, and I've been a client for since 2008.
I'm not sure how much you've read, but this thread summarises some of the (recent) happenings well - http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/617783-Throttling-is-ridiculous-ISP.

As I mentioned earlier in the week, the service levels over the past 2-3 weeks have been much better than what they were for the majority of the year; we could actually browse, stream and do absolute necessary downloads during office hours (08h00-19h00). The service wasn't 100% and shaping was applied, but we could at least use it, where we previously had to use a capped account from another ISP for our daytime needs. After hours (19h00-08h00), for the most part, it worked flawlessly with minor issues/frustration (latency spikes, streaming quality degraded, nntp dead) happening inconsistently. So, given face value, the service at present, isn't that bad.
The product (Gold account) on its own is rather expensive, and when you have to compliment it with additional products to ensure you have quality 24 hour connectivity (a capped account in my case), it gets rather pricey. Having to have that surety of a redundancy for a supposed premium product*, should have alerted me long time ago, but alas...OpenWeb OpenTime was too awesome! (*I only have the word of OpenWeb staff that Gold is better than Titan...but that has been challenged many times in this thread and I have my doubts).
I recently signed up at a new ISP (refer to Koosi's sig) and started using them full-time as of 3 June. I actually forgot about requesting an early activation of the new product and only remembered when my Gold account was acting up - browsing, streaming and all was degrading and became non-existent. At that point I switched over and haven't used OpenWeb since...nor have I had to use my redundant capped account during office hours. Perfect streaming, perfect browsing, perfect gaming and perfect downloading, 24x7.
For interest and argument sake, I logged into SAIX userstats this morning, and lo and behold, thar be dragons; my OpenWeb account (which I haven't been using since Tuesday) has an active session on. Surely it couldn't be someone stole my account? I haven't given out any details, and even if somebody stole my credentials, I ask for a password change every few weeks or so** . According to CableGuy (refer to PostManPot's sig), OpenWeb doesn't share accounts...so what in the world is happening?!
**funnily enough, every time I reset my password, there's a connection reset on this 2nd IP as well. Poor sod is getting auth issues due to me.

This will most likely be my second to last post in this thread. My last post will be when they stuff up my cancellation (uncancel my cancellation) or process a debit order without my consent (I requested and received written confirmation that the last debit order date was 1 June 2014).
I have no faith or trust in this company, and pending an unauthorized, thieving debit order from them next month, they (the company and its leaders) wont be seeing a penny from me ever again.

I have to say I'm having the same experience. I'm running near full speed day or night. I used to p1ss and complain because I averaged 800 Mbps on a good day on my 4 Meg line. In the last few weeks we've been hammering this account as I'm also gone end June and it has been awesome.
Not sure if they are opening the taps when you give notice to show you what you will be missing, but this is what I wanted before.....and never had. Sad.

I don't trust anyone with my phone line. Rather pay the few bucks to stay out of trouble.![]()
