New Telkom uncapped ADSL prices kick in

Those are very cheap prices.

I'm sure throttling limits are now smaller.

DSTV has no incentive, pressure or reason to charge less so why would they. They have a content monopoly. Other than that, people are quite happy to pay whatever DSTV charges, and then complain to their friends about the exorbitant price.
 
Just too bad TI's service is totally unusable for video streaming, torrents and gaming at the moment. Things started going downhill in November last year, and I moved over to WA capped a month ago. Never looked back...

Before getting a TI subscription do the following test. Phone technical support, and if the phone gets answered within 30 minutes of holding then get the account... Otherwise, well you see my point.

Beyond pathetic!!

Can anyone else share their experiences with Telkom Internet Uncapped and in particular how their shaping is at which hours. It is a big deal so I would like to know before making the move.
 
my question is why get a 4Mbps uncapped account on a 10Meg Line for R674 when u could get it on a 4Mb line for R548 as you'll never go above your line limit with a 4Mps account?

I don't really download too much - but when I do it hardly works. It wasn't a huge concern for me though.

However - with a 4mb line I expect to stream videos and that I cannot do with it! As the posted above said, it seems to go downhill in November. If they fix that, I'll be happy ...

It allows a person to get 10mbps when using a capped account on the side. It's a niche need.
 
With all the throttling you get with uncapped i would rather get a capped account with a large cap.
Cybersmart has that 'supersize me' offer which has been brilliant for my netflix/hulu needs.
 
The prices has been like that on my invoice since December....

For me, Telkom Internet has been an absolute horror-show recently. I'd be embarrassed, frankly, to recommend them to anyone.
