Which one is offering the better price per products (although the products arent really the same)

But which are you more inclined to lean toward?

AND

Which ISP are you more inclined to signup with

Crystal Web have a free newsserver, Vox have roll over.

I'd go with roll over

I signed up with Vox 2 weeks ago and I have not been happier with an ISP. R148 total for FatPipe Lite 25GB + Uncapped Bolt On, regardless of line speed. Outstanding value for money, if like me, you're at work all day during the week and really only start heavy usage from 6pm weekdays and all weekend :)

Lol, it's a good time to be a internet user!

Either way you getting great value for money. Haven't used CW since their launch. Been on VOX for just over 3 months now and it's very, very good.

VOX is well established and entrenched in the market while CW is still building that CV.

Get a trial account from both, see which ISP impresses you more from an overall perspective.

Agreed. As CW we've grown our network substantially into a massive multi-Gbps network, grown our customer base substantially, and been top rated ISP by MyBroadband as well, and only going on 2 years. So we're pretty happy with how the CV looks for now...

Never knew about this. Thanks a million for the post.

The only thing VOX has over CW is data roll over...If you want a reliable network, latency-wise, go CW.

Having said this - streaming is similar on both networks and both networks give full speed downloads (capped accounts)

At the moment, you can't game on VOX if you're in the South...Local latency tops 200ms in the evenings recently. I also experienced this last year on VOX so its not a new thing. And no...it's not my line.

Apart from the odd blanket IS problem, I have not had a single issue with CW from day 1..very impressed. I am on 40Mbit VDSL Home Capped...

Both of the ISPs on my shortlist having a price war. It's a great time to be a consumer. I do worry though that if too much business floods in it might put a strain on the networks but both Crystal Web and Vox are presumably pretty determined and confident that won't happen and that there are plans and controls in place to prevent it becoming an issue.

Do both offer trial accounts? I see that CrystalWeb do but I wasn't entirely convinced because it's for Premium Business Uncapped and I wasn't sure it would be worth signing up for because I couldn't be sure how representative it would be of the experience with a Home Premium Uncapped account which is what I would be going for. For Vox I didn't see anything about a free trial on the web site. Did I miss it or is it something that they'll do via a support request if asked?

Honestly, our free trial has been operating prety much identically to home premium uncapped of late. Home premium can shape downloads dynamically, but has operated unshaped for around 3 months now...

I'm on the CW Home Premium Uncapped account.
My son plays games while my SO and I stream videos.
I've only needed to contact support 2 or 3 times and that was many, many moons ago.
What can I say, it simply works, as it should, how it should, all the time!

In my experience, I asked Vox for a trial account of 500MB to test things like streaming and downloads; and was told over the phone by their support that they do not offer trial accounts. I must rather by some account for R148 and if it doesn't suit my needs, then it is only R148 that I spent. Others in the Vox thread claimed to have received a trial account though.

For me, there are some obvious differences between the two:

[1] Vox allows 2 connections, and CW allows 4.
[2] CW has both home capped and business capped data. I think that the Vox data compares to the CW business data.
[3] Vox pricing seems to "step" better. CW goes from R649 to R899 for the 225 to 325 package. Vox is R579 to R689 for 200 to 300.
[4] Rollover as mentioned is something that Vox currently does.

So yes, on paper currently Vox appear to offer a better package with their lower prices.

As an existing CW subscriber I would lie if I said that these prices aren't tempting, but I am happy with the service I'm receiving so I don't see a reason to move over at the moment.
