Hey guys!

I'm having an issue with my Dlink DSL-2750u router. About two nights ago, my connection dies, and after logging into the router and checking the status tab, I saw the internet connectivity status display "Unconfigured" with everything else either blank or zero (screen shot attached). I have tried re-entering my ISP settings as well as a Telkom guest account setup but no matter what I do, it gives the same result. My network is up but no net connection. I've rebooted after each setting change, and even tried resetting the router from the back, with no results.

Any ideas?

Thank! :)

Possibly a power surge or lightning damage. Doesn't look like the ADSL line is syncing. Is the Circle with Arrow LED flashing Green or Solid Green?

Step 1 : Use telkoms guest account details to check if you can access Telkom.co.za

Username: guest@telkomadsl
Password: guest

Let us know if you come right and then we take it from there.

Tried Telkom guest account and cannot access anything. Only one light on, and it's constantly flashing.

Happened to me as well. Lightening damaged the phone line jack on the router. If the router cant detect the line thats the problem. If it wasnt hit by lightening make sure you use pppoe as your connection type. I lost all my settings before and realised it wasnt working because of the connection type being wrong.

Hope this helps

Sorry just saw the image. You are using pppoe but i see the line is not syncing

Yeah, settings all seem to work on an old router I used to test the line. Whenever I try enter the settings from my ISP, or any other account, it never saves and just gives me the same reading on the status tab.

1. Try reloading the firmware on the router.
2. Make sure your VCI/VPI settings are correct, they should be 8/35 if i recall correctly.

Thanks.
1. I'll try fgure out how to do a manual update (maybe via usb?) as I can't connect to anything with the router plugged in.
2. VCI/VPI are indeed 8/35, but I can't get the configuration settings to keep after setup each time, just the "unconfigured" state.

Nah, I have connection with loaned old TP-Link router. The incoming line, cables and connection are fine. My Dlink DSL-2750u router still gives network access and connectivity around the property, both wired and wireless, to all devices. I don't have internet connection through the Dlink DSL-2750u router as I just can't get the access settings to keep saved, it constantly reverts back to the "unconfigured" state no matter what details I enter.

Sorry, by "can't connect to anything" I meant internet access.

I just enter the router address and it loads, so I assume HTTP? I can access the router through the browser without an issue.

Also to update the firmware, download it on another PC, save it to a USB, paste it on the desktop then enter the router and point to the file on the desktop and hit update.

I tried updating but with both versions it failed, saying the file is illegal? I went to the SA site for DLINK, http://www.dlinkmea.com/site/index.php/site/productDetails/232 and tried both files there:

1. H/W Ver. V1 F/W Ver.1.03_ME
2. H/W Ver. U1 F/W Ver.1.09_ME

Did I go tot he wrong place and/or get the wrong files?

D-Link firmware can be a bit confusing. Check on the sticker under the router for the hardware version. You have to match the router model and hardware version to get the right firmware.

Also check if it's a telkom branded router, if it is it will have a TK at the end of the model number, as for the firmware for that, i am not sure if it's still available as d-link has taken their ftp down AFAIK.

Version 1.69 for that specific router is available here
