Cool - any recommended pools? Prohashing has plenty info AFAIK. Not sure about the others.
Another project I'd like to try is set up our own MyBB pool for Scrypt and X11 (and others if there's interest). This might take a bit more time but it could be rewarding.
Lemme know if you are serious about this. Need a new project to work on and like how this sounds!
I've heard good things about Bitconnect, and I am currently reconfiguring my miner to point there to have a look. I've initially set it up to NiceHash, but I believe there is a little extra to be made if you're willing to go through the effort of converting and dumping rather than selling hashing power. Still early days for me, so I will be experimenting with a couple of configs to try and find the best consistent one.
I'll be able to report back on my 24 hours with Bitconnect after 9:30 tonight. Thus far it's looking like $17.80 for 24 hours at this rate. ZPool has done $20.8 in 23 hours - 1 to go. Looking like $21.5 for the past 24 hours. *EDIT* Confirmed just over $21 in 24 hours on Zpool.
Looking at the graphs here: https://poolpicker.eu/graph
It seems like it's hard to beat Nicehash from the POV of consistency. I will likely keep ZPool running for a bit and see what a longer term approach yields.
That's disappointing about Bitconnect, I thought it was close to Nicehash earnings.
Immediately switched back to NH after reading that. It's early days since getting my miner, every little bit helps
In the interest of diversifying, would it be worth while to still invest in a SHA-based miner, a la S9 or the like?
Yeah I figured that's probably best, at least start getting some money back before digging that hole deeper. They're not doing big numbers but still consistent... Returns have climbed a bit recently. I'm thinking of this too but want to pay off my 4 first.

I should just leave the stuff be to let it do their thing.
Typical me to buy "last year's model"No harm in planning for the future
Maybe Bitmain will have something new before end December....

So I was thinking about the whole enclosure thing now for the last couple of days, and it would make sense to do something.
I shifted my thinking more towards dust management rather than noise cancelling, as I think I'll just leave my machines in the garage and let them do their thing.
Was thinking of taking a large plastic container like this...:

...cutting an intake and an exhaust hole on either side, and perhaps slapping a dust filter on the intake side to manage what's getting sucked in.
I'm a little concerned about the heat inside a sealed container, and perhaps having a few extra holes in it on the side might help, but it might not be enough.
Thought?
Perhaps slap some passive heat sinks on the side? Apply some better/more cooling compound to the existing heat sinks? This will void the warranty though, yeah?
