Microsoft ain’t too popular

Reading that list I know for a "fact" that I would answer different on each question, would be interesting to know which country this was done in?

its all those lousy xbox consoles they selling! :DLOL!

dont let toxicbunny or ivan... see this thread, you'll make them cry :D

The special thing with M$ is that everyone proclaims their hatred... and then uses them for 90% of the time :D

Hehe, very true. We even never consider going the apple route for pc's, just keep on staying with the pc and windows/office etc.

Clearly this study group was predominantly made up of Apple fan boys.

Actually I respect Apple even less. Apart from good looks and good marketing, their products are awful.

I prefer my R25000 laptop not to melt on my lap. My R2500 Ipod not to turn yellow and my operating system not to get Hacked before windows Vista(link)

Ubuntu is something I think deserves the respect it has earned.

Microsoft would gain some respect if their prices dropped by say 75%.

Apple products are superior and not because of what Steve Jobs said, but because of my own personal experience.
I'd take an iPod over a Zune anyday. I'm
using a Mac Pro for hardcore video editing and rendering. My Adobe/Matrox/Windoze system sits unused. MacOSX > XP >> Vista.
Linux is cute but doesn't have the heavy app support.
I'm typing this on a Windoze XP machine - I use that for email/browsing etc.

Today I upgraded my Mac Pro's RAM. I added 4GB of FB DIMMs - it was such a pleasure,
the Mac Pro opens with a latch, the memory holder slides out, you plug the RAM in, push
the tray back, close the side cover which hinges closed. What a pleasure.

No wonder ordinary people are starting to hate MS with this Vista garbage
forced on them.

(Disclaimer, I may use a Mac Pro loaded with Leopard and Final Cut Studio 2, but for portable video
I use a Creative Zen Vision (with 640by480 screen) and my newest baby for that is a Cowon A3 60GB with a beautiful 800by480 16.7mil
colour screen - which works with my Mac and my PCs.) Still I have my old iPod 3G and its a beautiful
most intuitive player, ease of use which Cowon and Creative lack.

Wow, a latch you say. Next thing cars will have doors so I don't have to get in via the sunroof.

EDIT: There are one or 2 laptop manufacturers that get it wrong, but 90% of them don't. My point is: macs are not bad PC's, but for the price of a Mac you can get something far superior.

It's odd how 90% of the world complain about them but then 90% of the world will still use their products? If you don't like them, then switch! Linux has come a long way, it's finally a viable alternative.

Vista garbage forced on them? Anybody holding a gun to these people's heads? Maybe if Apple priced their stuff a little more competitively, they might see a greater uptake. Maybe if Apple offered more widespread support around the world, they might see a greater uptake. Maybe if Apple didn't make things so difficult for 3rd party developers, they might see a greater uptake. Maybe if Apple... bleh, who am I kidding, once an Apple fanboy, always an Apple fanboy ;)

One of the major reasons for the increasing number of people switching to Linux is that it's become easier to find one's way around it.

Oi Achmed... I KEEL YOU! :D :D

I know MS is a rubbish brand, I isn't stupid enough to think otherwise.

I'm seriously considering moving to some flavour of Linux on my home equipment, but only in a few months.. unless someone buys me a Mac so I can irritate you even more :p

In a way MS is forcing Vista onto the consumer. They might not be pointing guns but by discontinuing support for older hardware and software you will be forced to move....
