Vodacom, why do Top Up contracts have all the disadvantages of Prepaid yet not any of the advantages?

Three features annoy me:

1: Top Up airtime is not transferable. WTF? Why not? I put R315 of airtime on my number every month. Why can I not transfer a part of that to my wife's number?

2: Per second billing is not available. Why can I not switch to per second billing?

3: The straw that broke the camels back. The new Yebo 4 Less is prepaid only.

In vodacom adverts they tell you how wonderful Top Up is as it is just like prepaid but so much better.

The only advantage of Top Up is you get a handset with your contract.

Vodacom3g, can you perhaps get some answers on those 3 points?

I posted a similar question for vodacom3g regarding yebo4less, waiting to see what he has to say.

Can someone clear up the following please, was it possible to use the R135 to buy a SMS bundle some time ago?

yes but they stopped it, i used to do it.
The air time transer thing really pisses me off but it also did work for a while.

I'll ask the product team to comment.

I have the topup 315 now, and i went for it for two reasons.

1. Control spending
2. When I have enough credit saved up, buy data bundles!

I use it for the same reason. But just imagine how happy I would be if I could do the following:

If I can move money from my account and my wifes account to a third data sim and buy a data bundle. Oh the joy that would bring me.

Now imagine if i could use my "prepaid" airtime to make persecond or even better yebo4less calls...

But alas, vodacom seems to think that it is in my best interest to not do these things... :(

Quite. It has been bothering me for ages. This new Yebo4less thing just takes the cake!

Topup does have a per second option, I am on top135s. Just want the Y4l option as this shows on my phone but I still pay 4 cents per second. Could only get a Nokia 6300 when I upgraded with a pay in.
