So I had it with Vodacom and Samsang and the whole bunch.

My girlfriend has an Samsung Z400, in the first year it already gave problems, switching off (not switching on again) and not charging!

The first two times it went in for repairs at Samsung Vodaworld, there response was it was the battery, we even bought a new battery. That worked like for 2 weeks.

In the second year it was still giving the same problem, after the 3rd "repair" at Voda Repair Shop at Westgate, they say they can't find any fault.

Back at home after 2 hours it went off again. Not charging at all, not with the wall charger or the USB charger (although it was use to sync with the phone an hour earlier)

What are we suppose to do now? Vodacom Repair Shop and Samsung say there is no fault, but it doesn't work!!!

Demand they fix the stupid thing! I'd also complain on hellopeter.com, worked for me before.

I demand it to be fixed, they say they will, then they sms me 2 days later that it is repaired. I come to the store and apparently they "shocked it" (I assume the battery), when I get home the stupid thing dies again and doesn't switch on!

Keep handing it in for repairs until they give you a new one - that what I did with my Nokia 6600 which kept switching off - it was Vodacom policy at the time it they couldn't repair it after 3 attempt they would replace it though this policy was a bit open for abuse.

But the problem is, they do "repair" it. I have a feeling they waiting for the 24 month contract to expire.

And help on the vodacom3g?

AFAIK, if you've sent your phone in for repairs 3 times for the same problem, you can request that they give you a new unit.

That's what I also heard, but they said it doesn't count as it is not "broken". :(

If its 'not broken', why do you have to take it in to get 'repaired' all the time? Come on, common sense!

Demand a new phone. That's a Vodacare Policy. Your phone is going into repair for the same thing all the time. And everytime they need to do something just to get it working for a few days.

So today we got a call, say the phone has been "repaired".

At the store:

"No sir, there was no fault, we only did a software upgrade"

Tested it, everything works fine.
At home we charge it and after about 8 hours later, we try to switch it on. Nothing!

The phone was on charge and now it is dead again!

This is a major mission, but when you take it in again, do it on a day that you've got nothing to do, and write yourself off some fuel, etc. Try to get the phone to bomb right there. When it's doing this nonsense, take a charger with, etc, and prove it to them at Vodacare. Then, make sure they add a note to the repair order about it. If you go back to fetch it and they say there's nothing wrong, then you have it on record that it bombed right in front of them, and it's on the repair order, so they must make a plan.

You have to, unfortunately, deal with Vodacare for this, because the Samsung warranty has expired (I think it's only 6 months on Samsung phones), but that's no excuse for not repairing the phone.
