Got home yesterday and the router wasnt working. Power light stays red but other lights are green and the USB and internet keep flashing and the DSL light doesnt go on. I cant connect to the router it tells me limited or no connectivity. I personally think its buggered but any other opinions are welcome.

I'd also go with it being buggered. I've seen that problem with many many Mega 105WRs. Take it back to Telkom and ask them for any other router. :)

first make sure its had it. power off, unplug the ethernet or usb. turn it back on and wait for the internet led to light up. you don't wanna end up looking like a poepol when they test and it suddenly works. if the red led stays on, take it to their shop and demand a replacement

They don't test it while you're there as far as I know, they simply give you another and if your does still work they give it to someone else as a replacement.

So after swopping the router for a new one on the 18/07 it was working fine until yesterday when the new Mega 105WR did exactly the same thing. I'm gonna have to take this one back as well I wonder what Telkom's gonna say. Does anyone know what causes this and could it have anything to do with changing between two accounts?

Bottom line neo, chuck the Telkom router in the bin, and get yourself a brand new router, end of discussion.

The majority of Telkom routers are crap, for some people they work without hassles, but my one friend is on his 4th one already.

I thought Telkom are now giving out Billion routers? Surely they would have swapped your old Mega for a new Billion? UNless there is some possibility to prevent that...

under the same sircumstance? i mean after a power cut, or did it just 'happen'? they mention something about their routers going funny after loadsheding episodes on their support. they suggest you hard-reset it back to the factory default and rerun the setup steps.
if it just happened, i'm suspecting the PSU, did they swap that too?
don't worry about what they might say, so far the teatment from the staff at their shop has only been helpful and friendly.
about your concern that swapping acounts often might have something to do with the router breaking, i highly doubt it.

:cool:Hi;

Change your power suply, had the same problem and turned out to be the power suplly
Hope this helps

I had the same problem, took the router to a telkom shop and got a new one.

i also had this problem.... the power supply / surge protector where ur telephone line plugs in is the problem.... i got myself a billion router now, and believe me, its 10000000000 times better...
