Fair deal – now please pay us

Institutional shareholders in Telkom are generally pleased at the price put on the table by Vodafone for another 15% stake in Vodacom (it already has 50%) and with the prospect of the subsequent unbundling and listing of the remaining shares on the JSE.

man, that's a lot of money...

It sure is.

I think a lot of fat cats have a lot of debt (after all, the markets are extremely volatile, food and fuel prices are raping wallets) and they need a quick bonus or two to kill some debt...

:D I Love it!
Yip, all of them are alike, from factory operator to upcoming yuppie to fat cat – there is no tomorrow, get what you can now and blow it now…don’t understand the concept of budgets or “saving for a rainy day”.

.

But while the jury is still out on Telkom’s strategy in SA’s fiercely competitive and mature market

Fiercely competitive? Since WHEN has SAs Telecoms market been competitive?

its strategy to the north is potentially more attractive, due to those markets being less developed and generally posing less competition, Kingston says.

Ah, they're going to find somewhere with even less competition than SA and go screw up their Telecoms? I feel sorry for those poor regions.

I am going to use my Telkom bonus to buy shares in Vodacom when it lists on the JSE. Im no fat cat and I wont blow it.
