I would love to join. Live in a complex though. So they wouldn't be very happy with me if I put an aerial up on my roof.
 
If your are looking to join CTWUG go check out http://wind.ctwug.za.net and plot your locations, this way we can see who is near you and if you can connect, even if you do not have money now to join it will give us an idea where the interest is.

wise words from PTAWUG: rather ask for forgiveness than for permission

most of the members on PTAWUG and Jawug live in complexes, they all made a plan to get connected, you must just be smarter than the opsigter tannie.

I also live in a complex, already have other aerials up, and numerous dishes, so they DARE complain! :p

the main excuses/reasons used by PTAWUG members:
* it's for work, have to link to office, servers running...etc, etc. It's your bread and butter.
* it's for independant security monitoring, cameras in house, just play the crime card.
* find something else in the complex that's worse/uglier than a antenna on your roof and complain about that

I wouldn't mind having alien antennae on my roof... but my pocket would.... :(

froot and mieliespoor, have you plotted your locations on www.wug.za.net to check how far you are from a highsite ? if you are close enough, you can connect for about R1000 in equipment.
maybe you live next to a highsite, who knows - www.wug.za.net - go go go
