Hey all,
I am doing my 4th year Information systems Honours empirical research project at UCT and need to get my survey filled in by some companies. Heres the long and hard of it on the opening page of the survey.

Dear survey participant
In partial fulfilment of the course entitled Honours in Information Systems, we are required to complete an empirical research (ER) project. Under the auspices of the university and our mentor, Mr Adrie Stander, we wish to conduct follow up research on computer crime and security in South Africa
Using the data collected from the previous years ER project, the purpose of this ER is to determine any underlining trends in terms of increases in computer crime and security and South Africa’s current position relative with that of Australia and the USA. The research will exemplify the importance of South Africa organisations’ being educated and made aware of the current state and severity of computer crime, as well as the extent to which computer crime could potentially impact their business. Ultimately, the ER produced aims to serve as justification for further investment in computer security technologies, as well as the creation or improvement of computer and information security policies and procedures.
Thank you for participation in this study. Your co-operation will be greatly appreciated and your contribution will be most valuable. As this survey has been approved by the UCTs Ethics Committee, we would like to assure you that INFORMATION PERTAINING TO PERSONAL OR ORGANISATIONAL IDENTITY WILL REMAIN ANONYMOUS AND CONFIDENTIAL, and all other information provided will only be used for academic purposes of this study.
We understand that the survey is long (total of 37 questions) but this is necessary in order for the research to maintain consistency with previous data collected. PLEASE NOTE THAT ONCE YOU HAVE STARTED THE SURVEY IT NEEDS TO BE COMPLETED IN ONE SESSION AS YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RETURN AND CONTINUE AT A LATER STAGE. Please ensure that you click on the “Done” button once you have completed the survey in order for your answers to be saved.
Furthermore, as a small token of our appreciation, we are willing to email results to you. Should you wish to receive a copy, please provide e-mail address in the space provided at the end of the survey. Please note that in no way will your e-mail address be linked to your survey results

So in short we building on top of past years students work and hope to extrapolate trends in computer crime and security and discover where SA is in the international market.
