40% DSL bandwidth per bit price drop

I think the key here is competition. For the last two years there have not been many price moves by anyone except Neotel which means that there is not enough pressure on Telkom to cut prices.

Agreed.

“New technology roll outs for both DSL and cable, primarily ADSL2+ and DOCSIS 3.0, allows operators to boost their speeds and they’ve done so proportionally more than those offering fibre,” says Johnson.

Yet to see ADSL2 never mind 2+ in this country.

So why didn't they upgrade the 1GB accounts as well?

You got to love the title of this article...

Curse you Staff Reporter, why do you torment us so?

EDIT: I am another one of the members of this forum who was fooled into believing the contents of this article related to South Africa. Terrible title Staff Reporter, just plain terrible.

I also got excited as this article was Re-tweeted. The guy that tweeted also did not understand and he said 'about time'.

Please dont publish articles like this...
We tired of hearing how goooood Telkom has been in dropping prices 40% over 18 months crap. Dropping 40% from overcharging 4000% is still overcharging. Is this article propaganda in Telkoms' favor??

We want to hear about drops NOW due to seacom and the so called "on par with price to Seacom" SAT3 saga. When are we seeing an article with this heading for NOW?

Sounds like false advertising to me.
The articles always have these "wonderful" titles... and then the content as described above.

RPM, could you maybe take a look at changing things like this in the future? Bandwidth is a very sensitive topic to us and these titles aren't exactly helping.
