Should the Piratebay.org site try to keep going even with the law against it?

The Pirate Bay off the Intenet

The Pirate Bay, one of the world's most popular filesharing websites, is off the Internet after a Swedish court threatened its bandwith supplier with a hefty fine, news reports said on Tuesday

Don't worry - the Pirate Bay will be back - and will be harder to take down next time.

Distributed computing.

This is very, very sad indeed :(

Edit: I just checked and its back up w00t :D

It was down for 3 hours 2 days back... Should check this **** out before these so called 'news' stories are posted....

The real story is that TPB's bandwith supplier was threated so TPB moved to another supplier. Nothing more than that :P

you gotta admit those guys are resiliently sticking to their guns.

i am still a bit wary of using an tpb trackers given the focus on it.

Was Just the ISP who cut them off... but they are back 4 sure ! LOL - funny how they cant actually get TPB off and have to go for a loophole with hitting the ISP....

regardless of all this anyway... the Pirate Bay is old news now... they have decided to sell and 90% of their users have moved on to other trackers.

The MAFIAA are suing a dead carcass now.... but let them waste their money. :D

lol Gary pirate much? :D

haha... actually I don't use Torrents all that much... but I do subscribe to the news feeds of TorrentFreak and Zeropaid as they have a lot of info on there about the copyright industry and their war against the consumers. Highly recommended! They send out an update e-mail every day... very interesting reading.

I have been to torrentfreak and zeropaid once or twice to check out a few articles linked from other sites, but never really bothered to look through any of their other articles to see if it was worth bookmarking.

Just took a look thanks to your recommendation and have subsequently just added two new bookmarks. :D

Riding out the storm

We have, ourselves, full confidence that if all do their duty, if nothing is neglected, and if the best arrangements are made, as they are being made, we shall prove ourselves once more able to defend our Internets, to ride out the storm of war, and to outlive the menace of tyranny, if necessary for years, if necessary alone.

Even though large parts of Internets and many old and famous trackers have fallen or may fall into the grip of the Ifpi and all the odious apparatus of MPAA rule, we shall not flag or fail. We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in France, we shall fight on the ef-nets and darknets, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our Internets, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the baywords.org, we shall fight on the /. and on the digg, we shall fight in the courts; we shall never surrender, and if, which I do not for a moment believe, the Internets or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our Empire beyond the seas, armed and guarded by the Anon Fleet, would carry on the struggle, until, in Cerf's good time, the New World, with all its power and might, steps forth to the rescue and the liberation of the old.

Signed;

The Pirate Bay Crew - Always when needed.

Awesome stuff!
